Have you ever Had A panic ATTACK and if so please tell me what happen?!

Question: I have been Having Panick attacks for many years now , I had them so bad AT One point in my life I couldn't even leave my house or Drive A car. It seemed like everytime I got in my Car I would have one. And i use to have to take meds to calm me down. But Like I said it was 6 years ago since this started , and now I am able to have no Medication , and just Breath and relax. TRUSTME IT TOOK MANY YEARS TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT. But befor I learned to do it on my own I would run to the ER , because I really thought I was having A geart attack , or going to die at any min. I cant beleave I was like that , But trust me it is no fun. I Now have them maybe 2 time A month sometimes more if im really stressed out , but like I said I breath and calm myself Down lots of therapy LOL...
So have any of you had one before , and did you ever get rid of them so that they Never come back anymore. And if you did Please share with Me what You did.
Thank you ....

I had couple of them, but it was a begginig for me, and yes they are not fun. all the sudden, some kind of thoughts comes tomind and make me anxious, and just started to fight it from the biggining. if i let it for a few minutes, it will attack me. So, one time, this feeling just about to start, and i need something to get it out of my mnd. So, i got an idea, and i went to the shower, and took a cold shower, and i could not think of anything athor than my cold body, and THEN, I FELT VICTORY!. They never came back again, or at least, i did not let it happen agian. the minute i feel one is comming, I do not let it controle me. That is because i faught it once, and i dicovered for a fact that i can contorle it. If you start to feel tohave one, just know that you hate it so much, and won't to really attack her before it even tries.

I used to have panic attacks. Then I got help and addressed the actual source of my panic.

Sometimes it takes a dramatic life change in order to be healthy. Medications will treat the symptoms, but they don't treat the source.

I have had panic attach many a times and i was a victim of this for a long time. I am not happy at all untill i found this easy tips to get rid of these. I have posted it in my blog to help others like you. please feel free to visit my blog

I have and still do have them not sure if I will ever be rid of them. I take medication and try to mind excersices but usually when it is comming it just has to come they started 15 years ago in high school. not much help here.

Yes, I've had them, I think alots of us do. There was one time that when I was in medical school, we had to go to a flu clinic out of the area when my husband called me and told me that he had quit his job, gotten in a fight with his supervisor and just walked out. I was so scared that I started to have one. It felt like I was going to run out of breath, but my teacher sat me down and gave me a Dr. Pepper and I started to feel better. You just have to control yourself, not worry to much.

I had a period in college when I had panic attacks. I thought it was the end of my life, and that things were totally hopeless.

I quit having them soon after, though, and life is good. I have a very successful career with a top consulting firm, and anxiety has not held me back at all. I know how to deal with stress a little better now.

I think at some point, you just get used to yourself and your personality, and these types of things subside. Plus there are certain things you can do to beat your stress and fear before they get out of control...

Have you seen the techniques for control of panic attacks, in section 8, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris yet? Begin by holding your breath for 5, or 10 seconds: this will give you the confidence to realise that YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BREATHING, but not pass out, or die (your autonomic nervous system resumes breathing, if unconscious). Understand panic attacks, and what triggers them, in your life (if it is unresolved anxiety, see section 6). The paper bag method works for most people: have you tried it? If you are fairly suggestible, the following are reliable, and reasonably priced:

Your last alternative is psychotherapy, to address its fundamental cause: read section 1, and examine the 1-800-therapist website, and use the locators, and phone book. I used to suffer from panic attacks, until I questioned what had changed recently in my life, to trigger them? I suggest that you learn, then practise the controlled breathing technique, until competent, then employ it, at the very first sign of a panic attack.

I get panic attacks when I'm overwhelmed by something, it's usually work, or the fact that I know I will never leave this stupid little town I live in. First it feels like someone's sitting on your chest and you can't breathe, then you freak out because of that. I used to have them maybe once a week for 3 months when I moved back home from Australia, didn't have a job, living with my parents again, didn't have any money, all my friends have b/fs and are settling down, you feel like a failure that's how mine occur. You can only take so much in life. Then I started going to the gym and it helped sooo much and I was sleeping better at night which is a big plus!

I cried when i read this. Simply because I haven never heard of or spoken to anyone who suffers from them as well. I ended up at the ER that many times and they thought I was nuts. i would run in there hyperventilating screaming for someone to save my life and that i was about to die any second. They were pretty sick of me. I tried different anti-depressants and they made them much worse. I saw lots of doctors and read everything i could on the internet about the different ways to stop them. Nothing worked. Everyone said jsut breathe and im like (I can't ******* breathe) lol excuse the french but that is just one of the obscenities that would come out when i was certain that my time was up and i was about to drop on the floor. No matter what i did i couldnt stop them and when i felt them coming i woudl start freaking out more and make them worse. Though many people had told me "Just keep telling yourself that you are fine and you are not going to die" I was like yeah you tell yourself that when your heart is beating a million miles an hour or you cant feel it beating at all lol. Then one day I just stopped being so scared of them. I still get them regularly a couple of times a week but i can make my way through them now and come out the otherside a little ruffled but thankfully still alive. I know it isn't the best solution but meds didn't work for me so I am sorta happy to live with making it through them. Good luck with it and if you ever find a way to get rid of them please remember me lol! All the best!
