You just might have ADD. My husband was diagnosed with it recently. He forgets everything, loses everything, and is nearly late for work daily. I feel like his mom sometimes making sure he's up and out on time. I have to remind him of everything. He's a great guy, but it does drive me bonkers at times. There is meds. My husband decided to use omega vitamins like the doc suggested. Basically, fish oil. All is not lost honey. You sound like you may have it too. And it is treatable. Your actions are not laziness, but a disorder.

Find the reason you are motivated to attend collage, and put that motivation behind you actions.

u should set your mind to going to college n the reason u should go to college using it to make u clean the room and set evrything in it's place.and if u r successful in clearing up u can give yourself a treat so that u keep doing the right thing

perhaps you act too impulsively. not taking the time to think things through and living for the moment. try slowing down. write yourself lists and stick to them. if you don't think this will work, seek a counselor to help you figure things out. good luck.

Since you realized that you need to change, it would be easier as you can now understand the consequences of your not taking care of your belongings etc.
In the past you were able to get by because of your enviable intellect ( somehow getting great grades).
I think that it is a matter of making up your mind, ' turning over a new leaf ' , of paying attention where you left things instead of 'rushing around ' not knowing the difference between head or tail. (Shudder and think where you left your precious child - if you have still not got over your carelessness by then ).
