How do i tell my mom i want to see a consoler?!

Question: I just have been worrying about so many things and i have so many questions and i need advice from someone who would listen and i can spill out my emotions and feelings to right now and i know seeing a consoler would be the best idea. Except i don't know how to tell my mom because she'll think something is horribly wrong or something is wrong with me and be over concerned . And i don't want to freak her out.

How should i go about adressing her on this?

Just be honest with her on this one. There isn't anything wrong with wanting to talk with someone and IN FACT, I think you should be commended on realizing that you can't handle everything and you need a little help!!! She is your mother and she loves you, she will understand if you just explain to her what's on your mind and what you are looking to accomplish with this. Best of luck to you!!! I wish there was more people out there like you!!!

Hey Mum, I love you so much and I feel strange saying this to you, but I have things bothering me, nothing serious that you need to worry about, but I think it would benefit me to see a counsellor and I know that you will understand. Thanks mum - followed with a hug!

then just ask her

Explain it to her just like you did in this letter. Just be forward with her and explain your concerns to her. Tell her you want to get some help now before something does become seriously wrong! If that doesn't work, talk to your school counselor and ask
her/him for some help with your situation.

find yourself one...

I would actually try a friend or my mom before seeing someone. I know writing in a journal always helped me get things off my chest. But i know how you feel. And if you want to talk I would be gald to listen. My friends always come to me for advice about a lot of things. But yeah if you want to see an consoler just let her know. Nothing is wrong you just feel that you need to talk to someone. I'm sure she'll be very understanding. She may want you to even try to talk with her about it. But good luck.. I hope everything goes well

You said it pretty well yourself. Ask your mom to sit down and that you would like to talk to her. Then tell her, you're not on drugs, not pregnant, it's not life threatening, just the fact that you would like to get some order and reassurance in your life. If it's something that you can't talk to mom about, let her know. Tell her you're not trying to hurt her feelings, but that you just need to talk over some things that you wouldn't feel right talking to her about. That's about all you can do. Good luck.

There's a hotline you can call. 1-800-HELP-4-YU. Tell 'em what's up. I think it'll help. I've never had to call it, but I've had others say it's helped - people who listen, etc.
Also, there is also a website you can check out. it's called www.fightforkids.com. check it out as i think there's a link there that can tell you ways to help solve your problems.

You might want to try this first.

(just stay clear of therapists and any counsellor connected with psychiatry or psychology. www.cchr.org tells you why)

I was just like this:

I needed to see a counselor but wasn't sure how to tell my mom about it without her thinking something was BAD wrong. So, I just said to her "Hey, I was just wondering if I could go see a counselor, not that anything major is wrong, I just want some advice from someone who professionally gives it out. Do you think you can schedule an appointment for me?"

Just try it, you can do it.

Good luck!!! :)
BE STRONG, SHE'S YOUR MOM, YOU CAN DO ITTTT!!!!!
