Very stressed can't sleep, is there any help??!

Question: I am very stressed with working two jobs, classes and an up coming wedding, i feel exhuasted everyday but when I lay down to go to bed i lay there for hours with out sleeping. I have tried a long bath before bed, drinking a glass of wine before bed and taking deep breathes to relax nothing seems to work. I am not on any medications that would cause me to not be able to sleep it's just when I get stressed my mind races constantly until whatever I am stressed about is resolved, in this case my wedding is in May!!! Help please any ideas???

I have found that stopping and writing down all the problems of the day seems to help me vent. I didn't think it would work, but it did. I have also found some yoga moves help you fall asleep. But my biggest hint is write it down! It helps you evaluate and get it off your chest before you lay down. Try getting a little bit of tough exercise during the day, that may help you vent and feel more sleepy at bedtime.

A calming grape flavored swisher helps my sleep problems!

I will give only 2 tips, follow it without fail,i have also same problem.
* Do not sleep day time.
* Do physical exercise at evening/morn.

It sounds like you have a LOT of anxiety in your life right now, and anxiety is a top reason why people have trouble sleeping. Here are a few suggestions:

1. If you are worried about something, or preoccupied, get up out of bed, and write it down. Once you write it down, give yourself permission to put all thoughts of it aside until tomorrow.

2. Make sure you are getting some exercise in everyday. Exercise is one of the best natural ways to control anxiety, and it can also help tire you out. Do not do it too close to bedtime, however, or it might have the opposite effect.

3. Skip the wine and opt for warm milk or chamomile tea instead.

4. Consider seeing a therapist or at least talking your feelings out with a friend or writing them out in a journal.

5. Try CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to control your anxiety. You can either find a therapist who specializes in CBT, or you can learn some techniques & exercises from a book. A couple great CBT books are The Feeling Good Handbook and The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook.

6. Try taking a benadryl before bed. The active ingredient in benadryl is the same "sleep" ingredient in things like Tylenol PM.

7. If none of this helps, talk to your doctor. He or she may have additional thoughts on helping you with your insomnia and your anxiety.

8. You may want to ask about a medication called trazodone. It's an antidepressant, but it's often prescribed in low doses as a sleep aid. I can honestly say that it changed my life by helping me finally start getting enough sleep.

Here is are some good, easy, simple tips that I got from a therapist that worked for me. Yes it worked! First off.... YOU ARE OVERLOADED. You must drop some of your daily duties. You should write everything you are doing on paper by way of highest priority. Then start at the bottom and start checking off what you can stop doing. If you can delegate some of your duties to a person you can trust .... do that. You need some relief or you are headed for a nervous breakdown. Finally, If you have things racing around in your mind you will never get to sleep or worse yet, you won't get a good nights sleep. You need to get in R.E.M. sleep 2-3 times per night. Which is... dream state. I suspect that you are not dreaming much at all. That is not a good situation for your mental health. A doctor can prescribe Ambian CR. It's non addictive and it will help you get the sleep you need. But if you have all these things racing in your mind, it's because you are worried that you may forget something important. I suggest you write everything down that you need to remember for the upcoming day just prior to going to bed. That way you won't to worry about forgetting anything. I know this works.... I have done it.

You can relieve your own anxiety once you know how. Learn how at www.AnxietyRelief1.com using Anxiety Relief Techniques or EFT--both are self-help methods that work really fast and without a bunch of drugs. Very effective and long lasting.

Not sleeping sucks! See your Dr. Trazadone works well for some people not me however! You probably are going to need something short time. Ask the Dr. for Restoril once your body is back to sleeping you probably won't need them. I have times I don't sleep barely at all and when you don't get the REM sleep you wind up fatigued and feeling lousy because we need sleep. I use Restoril and sleep better
but still wake up alot but I get in 5 or hours so I can handle that.
Sorry I don't believe the Homeopathic stuff.
