Watch an exciting or suspenseful clean movie, play with the baby, talk to the baby out loud, ummm, you could walk around, etc...
get rid of the baby
when looking after a baby its best t sleep when baby sleeps, so if you need sleep now - g for it
Look at a bright light or watch TV
OR COFFEE
Chew some chewing gum.
Oh dear you are getting yourself in a tizzy. You don't tell me if the baby is yours or if you are just looking after it for someone but the advice is just the same, please try to train yourself to sleep when the baby sleeps .You will find that you will be aware when the baby wakes up or moves in its cot. This is instinctive in all mothers /carers. Be assured that all new mothers/carers have gone through the same thing and things will improve with time.
