Yes he will.

Paranoia will be his biggest problem.

I spent 10 years on speed (injected), coke, and crack.

He will be paranoid.

I'm 6 years out of it now and still worry about who is hiding behind the curtains.

The only thing speed will get you is death or prison. No good can come out of it.

rotting teeth..they just fall out
bad bad skin
skinny as hell
mood swings...agression like ive never known.
paranoia about anything and everything.

if you try to go faster and succeed then you get there sooner. If you go too fast for too long you get there dead.
If you need drugs you probably need the hole in your head filling in before your brains run out.
Get a life, not a coffin.

It makes you a skinny, spotty, toothless paranoid twat.

Speed (methamphetamine)use also increases the heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, breathing rate and dilates the pupils. Other effects include temporary hyperactivity, insomnia, anorexia and tremors. High doses or chronic use have been associated with increased nervousness, irritability, paranoia, confusion, anxiety and aggressiveness. Withdrawal from high doses produces severe depression.

Health Hazards
Speed (methamphetamine)can cause irreversible damage to blood vessels in the brain, producing strokes. Death can result from hyperthermia, convulsions and cardiovascular collapse.
Chronic, high-dose Speed (methamphetamine)abusers are susceptible to violent and erratic behavior, and a psychosis similar to schizophrenia. The neurotoxic effect of Speed (methamphetamine)causes damage to brain cells that contain dopamine and serotonin. Over time, reduced levels of dopamine can result in symptoms like those of Parkinson's disease, a severe movement disorder.

depresion and a poor appetite

This is what I know of meth and crack. It will make the person really skinny, their teeth will decay, the will get little sores all over their skin from picking, they will be paranoid, they will get very aggressive and violent. It has been linked to neurological disorders as well. Taken over a long period of time can cause permanent brain damage that will require therapy and medications to control. There is a lot of that goes into answering this question because all of these things happen at different times of the drug use. If you want specific details, I'll try to help. You can email me for more information.

Sorry to hear this.
With a lot of support and help I feel he'll get through it.
He needs to find himself again and feel he has 'worth'.
Know of someone that's had problems of this kind.
Not sure on the long term affects but do know that it's easy to fall back into habit if he mixes in the same circles.
All the best.

The come-down can be pretty nasty and last for a few days, you feel really depressed, paranoid and kind of "twitchy".

It can lead to anxiety, depression, aggression. Also can cause mental illness such as psychosis and paranoia particularly if they've used it regularly and if there's a history of mental illness in the family.

You should find out what else he's been taking because I'd bet my life savings he wasn't just on that. No-one i know just uses speed - and an old Friend of mine used to put it on his cereal every morning.

It also bad for immune system, heart etc. Strangely enough Amphetamine used to be used in diet pills (back in the day).

Major Depression and paranoia. besides the obvious cosmetic side effects

.... there are few things as bad for your mind as sleep deprivation .. why do you think it's used by the CIA as a form of torture? To willingly deprive yourself of sleep is just downright self-destructive. I've been there.

The nights can be eternal, especially in a paranoid state, and the blending of night and day cycles (since you don't sleep) can be disorienting.

You can have serious damage to all of your body.

The biggest would be an enlarged heart, which in many cases ends up giving the person a heart attack.
