I daydream too much!?!

Question: I daydream A LOT. I usually daydream what I saw on tv, or listened on the radio. I also, imagined myself hanging out with my favorite cartoon characters such as the people from Teen Titans or Sailor Moon. It's been a big problem for me because I can never pay attention in class (despite that I do well in school) or in church or in group discussions. My sister thinks I won't get a job because I can't control my mind from wandering. Please give me tips of how to stop daydreaming so much.

Maybe you shouldn't be looking for a job, but a career in which you can take advantage of that wild imagination.

My take: you're probably just too intelligent to be challenged by school, ordinary discussions in church, etc. You need to be challenged more, and when you can, write down what you daydream. Try to channel your thoughts into more creative and original plots, etc. I'm the same way. I was bored to death with school until the other kids caught up, and I was constantly getting yelled at for not being in the room mentally. I remember my mother going for conferences in first grade about the problem. Hey, at least I wasn't disrupting class. That didn't start until 9th grade, and even then, it was just whispering to my neighbors...

You are probably a very creative person, and I'm guessing you're not in High School, yet. You don't say how old you are, but judging by your viewing choices, etc. You write like an intelligent and well educated young lady. Try to get into more advanced classes, that will challenge you more. Ask your parents to get you into enrichment type classes, and see if you don't like the creative writing idea. Hey, if all else fails, by the time you're out of school, the screen writer's strike ought to be over. We can only hope.

Dont worry about this at all. you are still too young. when your age is moving.... it will control properly. good luck
