the information is easy to read and understand and may give you some practical tips on things to try which might help.

If you are still seeing the counsellor then I suggest that you tell him/her that the suggestions aren't helping.

Obviously the subject matter, and they way it is being taught, is causing you added anxiety in history. Is there a form tutor or student support worker that you could have a word with. Maybe the teacher needs someone to tell him/her that the way they are approaching the subject is actually causing some students distress (I guess you aren't the only one who feels uncomfortable....).

It would also be a good idea to go and talk to your GP, explain what is happening, they are there to help and support you, and they won't be shocked by anything you say.

I hope this helps.

seek help. real help. not just from here.

stare out of the window
talk to the people you sit with
daydream
look at the cute boy/girl

or if all else fails

pay attention and learn some history

I accidentally gave Cyclone's A: a thumbs down. I meant to give a thumbs up.

Babe u don't wanna ask this buch of w*nkers such an important question!! Their answers all seem to be very negative at the mo and will only steal your zen. Seek professional help. Recognise the triggers. Admitting you have a problem is the 1st step and the real people out there will stand by you and support you. You are special and deserve attention so look after yourself and do something for you. Please see a doctor or a support worker at your school or talk to your tutor. Take care babe I'm rooting for you xx

Feeding your pain is what happens when you harm. The pain wants to experience more of itself.

The reason you're triggered in history, is because you sit near someone who has a lot of pain in them, and your own pain is reacting.

Hmmm, you sure do have a toughie here . . .

I would suggest that you start talking to someone in your class. I always end up with no one I know in my classes so I just start conversations with people. Getting to know someone new may distract you and you could end up with a new friend!

Also, you could try drumming your fave song on the desk with your finger tips (quietly).

If I think of anything else, I'll edit it in. I really admire the fact that you have realized you have a problem and are seeking help. Keep up the good work and I hope you find a distraction that works for you :)

its probably hard. but think about other things. try to focus on the class. or write down ur emotions and how u feel. writing helps a lot and it brings u closer 2 urself. or i agree w/ the other person. get more help. or try to find a reason to motivate urself 2 stop. it worked 4 my 1 friend. if not use urself as motivation.

find something else to express your feelings write, draw, sing, shout, scream,....... look after yourself

do you feel trapped? or is it something else

Life is worth fighting for, hold on to it by the throat, because its a great ride.

write it down, for yourself or someone else to read
story, poetry a song ??

Get help before you harm yourself any more. What you are doing to yourself does not make you feel better so stop doing it. You are also harming those around you who care about you.

First, talk to your teacher about how this is affecting you so they can be more sensitive about it. There's no need for them to be shouting and going into gory details, especially if they are aware that this makes you want to harm yourself. If that doesn't work talk about it with your parents or another trusted adult. You might need to go to the principal with this. If that doesn't work then drop the class and see if you can get it with a different teacher.

Red pen works surprisingly well apparently - you'll know the way blood flows, so draw it on your wrists or other areas you like to cut.
