Should I be as afraid as I am?!

Question: Last night, I took my rescued dog for a walk. As we came around the corner, someone came up behind me, & using both hands shoved me down so hard he, she, or it left a perfect hand shaped bruise on my shoulder. My knees hit the concrete. My face went into the mulch & dirt at the foot of a shrub. There was a rock that my forehead landed hard on. MY DOG DID NOT BARK! The police said that was because she knew the person. I wound up with a concussion. The police said my dog knew the attacker, so I must know the attacker. It terrifies me to think that someone I know wanted to hurt me like that. It could be anyone! The person came up behind me. I never saw who it was. I was advised not to walk the dog after dark, & not to walk her alone. Would you be as scared as I am? Good Luck & Blessings

Of course I would be afraid. I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. It's even more scary knowing that the person who did this possibly knows you and of course your dog. I would watch who you talk to and see if you can get clues from that. You know, if someone says something about you being hurt before you give any info to them. See if they slip up. Best of luck and please be safe.

holy **** glad you are ok, your rescued dog may not have barked because you dont know what kind of experiences the dog may have already had, this may have been normal for him but definetly be extremely cautious and do as the police advised be safe

I would be scared and quite worried. It could have been that your dog didn't bark because the attacker came up behind the both of you so he didn't have a chance to see the culprit? I would take the advice of the police and don't walk your dog after dark.
Good luck to you and be safe!

it seems that the person who have done so is very very friendly with your dog as like as you. and try to know why you were advised that not to go for walk when it is dark? ask the particular person who used to suggest you so? and just think weather you have any enmity with that particular person or any body else in your well known persons that usually friendly with your dog.
try to guess or remember the deo smell of that person or atleast the touch weather it was a lady's or man's.
try to remeber the way of hitting you step by step so that you can guess by generalisig and comparing the hitting styles of men and women .
after conforming the male or female then try to list out the people who is usually friendly with your dog.
collect the names and illustrate yourself on whome you have doubt .
the filter the very doubtful persons and remember while you list out that any body is trying to escape or already escaped from you.
better to guess intellectually.
then also he /she does'nt caught up by you means he or she should be a person who always do like what he/she done to you.
while the process is going on serious vision and secrecy should be maintained.
