I want to get of my Zoloft soon; I canceled my appointment with my psychiatrist !

Question: Do you think I'm making a wise decision to do this? How will this make me feel afterwards? I've been on Zoloft for over 5 months now; I don't think there's something wrong with me; everyone doesn't think that there's something wrong with me. I know I worry alot and it leads me right to depression.

I would discuss it whant your psychiatrist first - you are probably going to want to wean off Zoloft, vs stopping cold turkey because a lot of times, just stopping can mess you up.

I think it is great to get of it. I did.

I replaced it with Meditation. Look into it.

I wouldn't cancel the appointment. You need to ween yourself off the Zoloft or else deal with very unpleasant side effects.

You need to tell a medical professional that you want to stop taking it. If you insist, they won't keep you on it. You're not supposed to quit these kinds of medications all at once. You need to consult your doctor first.

If you want to get off of your meds then you should discuss that with your Psychiatrist because they can prescribe you decreasing dosages until you are off instead of going off cold turkey. I think you should have kept your appointment.

If you don't want to be on the Zoloft that's fine, but you should talk to your psychiatrist and he will take you off of it gradually and more safe then just cold turkey. Good luck to you.
