How can people believe that ADHD is real??!
Question: With the complete lack of any sort of scientific evidence supporting it, and with the ever-growing amount of profit the psychiatrists and big pharma are reaping from its labelling and wholesale drugging, why are some people so determined to ignore the obvious? It is a marketing scheme dreamed up for profit.

Wow, I totally agree with you. It became fashion to label every known human behavior as mental illness.
I have three children and thanks God, all of them are so beautifully hyperactive. They run, they jump, they scream, they climb trees (it scares s**t out of me each time) and they do all those things every normal and healthy child does and should do.
They are doing very well in school and if they get some bad marks for some exam I go with them over their materials looking for the words in the text that they don't understand and define those words for them with the help of good, simple dictionary.
Yes, sometimes is not easy with them. I would love to have the same energy level as they do, but I unfortunately I don't (I am 40). And yes, to be totally open with you, sometimes they drive me nuts and sometimes I shout on them, specially after hard day on work when I am trying to relax at home, but they keep coming with their questions and demands and quarrels, etc.
But I would NEVER, NEVER drug my children to make them more obedient, more passive, more easy to handle and have more peace at home. Those psychiatric medications does no good to anybody. And by the way, if you really want to know, all those school massacres and mall shootings were done by children/people on those psychiatric drugs.
If your children have difficulties in school, help them, don't drug them - find the words they don't understand in their text books and get them defined. If they drive you nuts with their jumping and screaming well it is your problem, not theirs.
But for Christ sake, please do not put them on drugs that will turn them to vegetables or next mall shooters.
