Have you ever been PMS? Have you ever felt that hormonal urge to do something out of character, such as smack someone or yell at a child? The urge passes, but what if it didn't? Have you ever craved something so bad that you would go totally out of your way to get it? All those things are chemical impulses in your brain.
Now, someone who is bi-polar can get those impulses, but they tend to be a little more whacky. When you are having a manic episode, it can make you do all kinds of crazy things. Sometimes you know they are crazy, sometimes they are perfectly logical.... to you. My mom's friend got it into her head to leave her three children (all nearly adults), drive to Utah to meet a man, and start a commune for naked people. To her, this was an impulse very out of character.... but the idea got into her head and she just couldn't shake it.
So, very much like that crazy craving YOU get at three in the morning for ice cream, that temptation that is almost impossible to resist.... imagine that it wasn't about ice cream? I know that I have gotten into my car at three in the morning to drive to the Gas Station for ice cream.... haven't you?
No of course not its just a way to try and save her skin, sicko
