About my sleeping pattern?!

Question: Well, I am confused about this. Have I just screwed up my sleeping pattern and it needs fixing? Or do I have a disorder?
Well, I haven't been getting to bed before 1 or 2 for weeks...a month or two maybe. It's just been past 12 all the time for a while now. I sleep in, most days until 11 or 12 and I don't enjoy it, since I feel worse on days when I sleep in. So, I have this go to bed wake up late thing, and waking up early is a battle. I'm thinking of trying to stay up all night, and start anew with my sleping pattern the next day...but what is really going on? I do not know...
I have recently heard of Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome and I wonder if this is what I have. I do remember when I was younger, how I could sleep well during the day, and how it took me a while to finally fall asleep at night. I would lay in bed for a while just thinking about things. So...do you think that I can fix my sleeping pattern? Or is this a disorder that can't be treated?
just some answers and/or advice

You should be able to fix it. Babies get their days and nights mixed up if mom wants to sleep in, I made that mistake with my daughter. But I was able to get it back right in time. I am also on your schedule now after working for years going to bed no later than 10pm and getting up at 6 am. I don't have to work anymore and I found good tv programs on later at night and also would get involved with the computer so long until i couldn't see straight or get to reading a good book i couldn't put down and pretty soon my bed time turned to 3am and I sleep til at least 11 am. Start going to bed say 30 minutes earlier for awhile until you can fall asleep normally, then move it another 30 minutes earlier and so on until you are at a time that you feel good about. You can also try doing more during the day to tire yourself out or go to bed an hour earlier and take a book with you. When I read in bed, I get sleepy faster. If you stick with it you can get back to an earlier schedule. There are also over the counter sleep aids to help you get to sleep at an earlier time. I would take one sooner than it tells you this way at your designated bed time you will be sleepy enough hopefully to doze off right away but again using this method you need to gradually get earlier. Camamille tea can also help relax you or Valarian tea to help you get back on a more suitable schedule. Good luck.

I'm afraid I don't have any answers except to say that you are not alone. I sleep all day and am awake (and usually on my computer) all night. I guess it just suits me as it's pretty stress-free, but I agree it is depressing. I hope you get some answers and some help, as it's a hard habit to break.

Ha, thats funny. I am dealing with the same thing. During winter break, I would always, and I mean always go sleep after 3:30 am, and I would always wake up past noon. I felt I missed a huge part of the day. A few times I stayed up the whole night because i would just sit in bed and think.

what you might have is Acute insomnia, which is the inability to consistently sleep well for a period of between three weeks to six months.

Sleeping disorders like insomnia and such are usually caused by:

-Caffiene, of drugs
-Hormones,
-Anxiety
-And poor sleep hygiene

some things that can help are not taking naps during the day, but if you have to not later then the afternoon time.

dont exersize later than 4 hours before your bedtime.

and if you have to use a little bit of sleeping aids to help you back on track.

if you really think who have a disorder, dont hesitate to go to a doctor.

hope this helps.
