Stress=My chronic headache? ** This is important **?!

Question: I'm currently a sophomore in High School and I am suffering from headaches every day. On average I take atleast 6 advil in 24 hours. I have headaches in the afternoon after school sometimes after sleeping in the morning too. I don't enjoy going to school and it stresses me. I'm under alot of stress right now and need help. I have two questions

1. How can I revlieve a headache and makes sure I can try to keep them away.

2. How and what can I do to wind down from my day at school, remove stress and just relax? I want to feel good but I'm depressed all the time for god-knows-why... I mean I don't know but I need to relieve stress and I need to now. This is becoming a growing problem.

No I won't talk to a counciler either, they just make it worse in my case and start getting off subject and yes I've talked to a doctor but he didn't give me anything for my depression and headaches. Please help

also tell me, am I the only one with these problems? I feel like I'm the only one...

Nope you are not alone. Now that that doesn't help you. Try these suggestions if you like:

Drink alot more water and eliminate caffeine. 64 oz of water a day is a minimum.

Try meditating.

Try this when the pain hits:
1. 5-3-7 breathing. Keeping the same pace, slow or fast, just be consistent -
BREATHE IN to the count of 5
HOLD IT to the count of 3
RELEASE your breath to the count of 7
Immediately
5 BREATHE IN
3 HOLD
7 RELEASE
Repeat this until you feel yourself relaxing - this really does work Use your fingers to keep count on and don't pause between the repetitions. Each time you exhale you are exhaling more Co2 and taking in more o2 and your body literally melts the stress away....can be used anywhere, but is great for getting to sleep.

2. Make the pain into some kind of ball (eyes closed) the hugest ball that contains all the pain, doesn't matter what colors you choose. Then just compress it a teeny bit, keep breathing (we tend to stop or hold our breath when in pain) and compress it a tiny bit more. If it expands, just keep gently compressing it until the ball begins to shrink in size, it will get to be watermelon size, then honeydew size, then softball sized, then golf ball sized and so on until it is just very very tiny or gone altogether.

Stop into your local well-known health food store and ask for some assistance.

Try a cold gel pack on the back of your neck too.

Get a professional massage by a licensed massage therapist. You will probably be able to get a 1/2 hour
twice a month and afford it.

Bicycling and swimming are gentle but excellent ways to work up some endorphins in your body without hurting your body. Endorphins are the 'feel good' chemicals your body releases. Even getting out and walking around the block several times twice a day will help.

Try them. See what works or helps improve the situation.
Hang in there. Be patient with yourself. Try not to let school 'get' to you so much. Keep practicing the 5-3-7 breath work, that really really works well for lots of people in keeping the stress level lowered.

Eat spicy foods that have tumeric or cayenne in them. This sets up an endorphin response in your body as well.

Be kind to yourself.

no you are not the only one with these problems. the stress is most likely causing the headaches so you need to relieve your stress and hopefully the headaches will start to go away too. Try reading books that you enjoy before bed in order to wind down from the stressful day.

1. Drink more water and headaches will probably stop.

2. End your resistance to what is. Accept your life, just as it is.

You need to get a check up to rule out health problems. This includes seeing a neurologist for possible migraines or epilepsy. Epilepsy can cause fatigue, headaches, stress, and depression . I went undiagnosed with epilepsy until I was in my late twenties. Please get yourself checked out.

You need to destress. you have to go to school, so go...and then afterwards involve yourself in something stressless and fun. headaches won't go away until you destress
