ADD/AHDH is destroying me?!
Question: Paying attention is class is very hard. I wander off and then I get lost and it screws my school work. I work on homework for 5 hours every night because I struggle. I get frusterated and upset. It really hurts when my mom walks into my room and see's me having a hard time. She trys to be nice to me and trys to take me out to have fun but I never want to go. I'd do anything to see her proud of me. I try to blend into the crowd and look normal but when Im alone I break out crying. When Im with my friends I just act like Im the usual "happy me". I have a doctors appointment for next week to get help. Im worried that the doctor wont take me seriously and wont give me medication to fix me. If I get the medication Im going to turn everything arround, I wont waste time with TV and junk. I want to read but I wonder off and read the words without putting them together. Im going to show my mom that Im something. Do you think that the doctor will give me medication?

Tell him exactly what you have written here. I know from experience for someone who truly has adhd ,medication can be like getting a brand new life. But I want you to remember something for me even though you don't know me, I want you to know that you already are something you are somebody. Don't let having adhd make you think otherwise. And I am sure that your mother is proud of you already. My son has adhd and he is on the daytrana patch and it has helped him tremendously. Just make sure you have lots and lots of support around you. It sounds like you do with your mother, Good luck! Also it's a good idea to go online and get some info on adhd and also the medications that are available so that you will be ready to discuss it with the doctor. here are some good links.
