I set the alarm clock on my phone to remind me to take my medication. When I'm in the spot that you're in I keep some by the bed and some by the settee and then I don't have to go to far to take them. Keep trying, it's really hard but keep trying.

wow. try working out and stop taking drugs

a solution to the concentraion would be to walk for a while, all research done on the topic shows that it is just as helpful for depression than any medication (often better) but for the cant be bothered to get up it could pose a problem.

P.S. did you know depression is the most common illnes in the UK, twice as much as the common cold or flu

Yep they they send you scatty. They gave me stomach acid and sleepless nights and i felt i was loosing it. Try as you might only you know if your benifiting from them. Saying that give them the cource and if you still feel the same ditch them.

make taking your pills fun...like putting them on yop of your favourite food then when you o to eat you will take them.

If you think you need to take drugs to help you then you must already be on drugs...

When diet & exercise fail.. or wait.. diet and exercise DON'T FAIL!

Exercise, yes exercise is proven just as effective as a cure for depression as medication. So ask your doctor if getting up off your *** would be good for you..

You've put me off ever taking tablets...
For the benefit of YA, I'd suggest you hang in there.
YOU ARE suffering from depression, and I can't help..............
My reason being was that I never wanted to take pills to alleviate it, as i thought it may do more harm than good.

It's suprising the difference a day makes.

u seriously should talk to your doctor, there is no need to be having a battle on getting or not getting up to take your pills. Mayeb u need a friend to talk to is thia hwy u feeling like kiling yourself? Plz whatever u do don't harm yorself or anyone else. Try to move around you know, jump rope or jog, run even! Just talk to a doc or a psychiatrist on these feelings.
Plz do something but don't kill yourself..pray even for strength.
Good luck an dplz take action on this issue by discussing this with your doc.

Wow.. you've had some pretty awful answers so far.

It sounds to me like you're profoundly depressed. I would strongly urge you to go and see your doctor, preferably with someone that you know eg a close family member.

Interestingly, you say that your OCD has improved somewhat- usually, depressive symptoms improve before obsessive/compulsive ones. It may be that you need to be on a more potent antidepressant.

The physical symptoms that you mention are a sign of major depression. You need to get help as soon as possible. If you have someone who is close to you try confiding in them until you can be seen by a doctor- right now you need as much care as possible. In the meantime please try and take your medication, as you run the risk of getting even worse.

Good luck and take care.

I think you need to go back to your doc and tell him/her exactly how you feel. Perhaps the tabs are making you this way? (My experience.) Maybe you don't really want to take them? Can you get councelling? I had to insist to get some. Sometimes I think it is cheaper to give someone pills than the time/ opportunity to work out solutions to move on in their lives. Talking helps big time.
Take things a step at a time, set small goals and be kind to yourself. Depression is not your fault. The intensity will pass and you will find ways cope. I think those who have been there and have come to accept it and themselves are some of the soundest people around. So you will come out a stronger, wiser person. Be proud. My thoughts are with you. :)

Try EXERCISING then it will be easier to take the prescribed drugs.

you seem to have a few things going on here. firstly the tablets for depression, if you feel you are not benefiting from taking them dont take them. my nan got addicted about thirty years ago and now in her 80's is still on them,my sis had them for post natal, her symptoms before taking them were she kept feeling sick, run down and sad. (turned out she actually had a brain tumour her docs missed for four years and she died),it seems so easy these days to just give out tablets and send the patient home again, also something we learnt when the insurance didnt pay up, when you are on and for sometime after taking these you are not supposed to sign any legal documents. as for the not being bothered and aching bit as someone else said exercise is really good it releases the feel good and pain killing chemicals in your body. this may also help with your ocd as well, if you have a routine like going for a walk in the morning and doing sit-ups in front the tv later it gives you something else to focus your attention on. hope this helps
