Answers: Any suggestions on how to go to bed at a reasonable hour?

Sure just shut it down and get some sleep. We will be here in the morning!

Set a timer.

Sleep with your computer....

why do you sit on your computer?

ehy go to bed? its 1;30 am here in CALifornia and im not going to bed and i have work tomorro... i chose to be here cus im not sleepy... MY MOTTO: WHO CARES??

its called priorities

i have the same problem especially since i got this laptop... i just lay w/ it in my bed and go online!! its terrible!

hahaha i do the same thing and i justthink about how tired i am nd i get too tired to stay on

Nyquil ZZZZZZZZZZZ

set a time limit for yourself on the computer and stick to it

heres an idea, pick a time you want to go to bed. then, listen closely and take notes, here comes the hard part. when that time comes... SHUT OFF THE COMPUTER AND GO TO SLEEP.

always see your clock and drink milk before you sleep. that will help you sleep better

wake up earlier

i have that problem to. acutually i should be in bed right now. i have no ideas but you could like set a resonable amount of time like say 12 is the latest im going to be online. thats what i do.

LOL, when you find out let me know. If it was not the computer it would still be something else for me, I am most certainly a night owl and maybe slightly an insomniac.

u dont have to log out of accounts and exit pages and close applications
just push the switch off button and oppss
it helps really

Yeah this happens loads to me too.
What I do is, I start closing things one by one. Then I exit all conversations on messengers etc etc
Then I go read a book till I fall asleep :D so then I have something else I look forward to after I leave my computer. =]

bring with you an alarm clock while you're using a comp., and adjust it in the time you want. you should try to be strict w/ yourself.

example: ringggg.... ringgg... oh no, it's bed time. maybe some more minutes will do...>> until it carries you in the computer world again...!! and forget about the time. :(

try to be strict w/ yourself, i guess.

Set your alarm about 10-15 minutes earlier than the time you should be in bed. This way once the alarm goes of you can use 5-10 minutes finishing up what ever you're doing on the comp, and the last minutes preparing for bed.

I have the exact same problem. We are just addicted to our computers. My suggestion is start turning on your radio to Coast To Coast AM with George Norey. It comes on around midnight (go to the web site to look up the correct station for where you live). If you lie down and listen to the talk radio show it will soothe you into a good sleep....hopefully you won't get addicted to it too...'cause that can happen.

I have the same problem too. I usually wait until I start feeling sleepy. Then I go to bed, which is really late. What if you limit your time on the computer and set a bedtime?

set yourself a time like 10:00 pm you have to turn your computer but before bed you must do a routine firts before actiully getting to bed it will set your mood that you wanted to sleep. I always stay up late because of wacthing too much TV. So I tried to control myself like turning off the TV exactly at 10:00, then i drink tea and turn the radio on (soft music) to get me to sleepy mood.

you should think about what time you have to get up in the morning and than think about that you nee at least 8hours of sleep a day. than work out a time to sleep and how much time you should be on the computer

I dont think this is a mental health issue (unless your not sleeping because your mind is still racing and you cant slow it down to allow sleep - but you dont mention this)

I have the same problem - it can be all hours of the night or following morning before I look at the clock and realise the time - its a self control thing - you need to take responsibility for getting to bed at that reasonable hour if thats what you want to do - for me I dont worry about it so much but it does catch up with me from time to time and Im just tired all day for a few days until I catch up on lost sleep.

You can do as has already been described and set an alarm clock to tell you its time to go to bed (I know they are usually used to wake you up but hey if it works,,)

You can try making a conscious effort to check the time more often on your computer screen

You could ask someone you live with to call out when it gets to a certain time and let you know its time to get off the computer

Set your phone alarm to go off at that hour you want to get off

Other than these suggestions Im not sure what else you can do - I can sympathise as I am doing the same thing - 2 nights ago I went to bed at 3.30am and was up at 7.30am then last night I was up on the computer till 5.30am and got up at 10.30am and im tired now - it just doesnt worry me so much plus I did years of 24/7 shift work and I have pretty bad insomnia so Im just used to staying up late

u mast to have a perogram in your life. for exampel one houre for computer
two houver for homework and exsetra....

That is exactly why I am answering this question and not sleeping! Good luck on that. If I turn it off... I still cant go to sleep so I figure I will just keep it on until I am about out.

Allot yourself just two hours to do whatever you have to do on the computer and stick to that. This way you will go to bed at a reasonable hour.

lol.
turn it off, and you'll find yourself going to bed immediatley.
you'll find it in the morning, so dont worry.

Don't get on the computer.
Set the computer to shut down at a time you need to rest.
Trying taking a sleeping pill so you will be tried.
Do homework on the computer.
Drink warm Milk
Drink a large glass of warm milk or water, before you use the computer when you get up to go to the bathroom. Don't go back to the computer.

If you find a solution, let me know lol it's 1:44am

ha yea this happens to me alot try waking up early so ull be tried by the next night
