Self harm Very serious question?!

Question: I self harm and I'm really scared for myself. I have been cutting for 4years. I told my best friend that I cut and she wants me 2 stop. I promised her I will. I stopped for a week but I started again. I'm scared I might cut 2 deep one time and kill myself. I don't know what 2 do.

If you think that you're scared now, think of how scared you'll be when one of those cuts result in your being hospitalized because of septic infection.

You need to talk to an approachable adult about this obsessive behavior. I understand it, know that there is help, but can't be of any help from a computer keyboard. Find someone who CAN and WILL help you find services! You live in a dangerous situation and must find the willingness to give up control long enough to let someone else guide you to safety!

If you read this, give additional comments so that we know how you're going to proceed. Many of us care about what you're going to do with our advice. I know I do. I lost a very close friend to septic shock...would like to know that that experience helped someone else.

um....well it is very dangerous because you can get serious blood loss but the best thing to do is for you your friend and a consoler to talk....

i was a cutter and i promised people that too. but before you promise people, you have to promise yourself first. you need some one to talk too. and im here. so is god. hang in there, and im serious you can IM me at anytime.

you should see a counsellor. i would talk to your parents about it, because this could be about a number of things. trying to get your parents to notice you, being depressed, acting out on the only thing you can control in your life... please talk to someone. if youre in school see a guidance counsellor if not please talk to someone who can get you the help you need

Hi--The relief found in self-injury is almost always short-lived. You may feel better for a little while, only to find that distressing emotions have quickly returned and you're once again reaching for a razor to cut your arm or a match to burn your stomach, even if you vowed to stop injuring yourself. Self-injury can become almost habitual
