Have you ever heard of SA meetings - Sex Aanonymous. It's real and like AA, NA, and GA (Gambler's Anonymous) it is an addiction. You have it if you not only think about sex 24/7, but act on it. One of the classics is a famous basketball player who said in his book, years ago, that he had sex with 20,000 women. Three a day for a long, long time.
Much like the alcoholic who is always planning his next drink, or the junky working on his next fix, or the overeater, planning their next meal [ Yes, there is an OA], these people line up their partners far in advance.
And, this is not restricted to men. Women are there, too. "If I screw his brains out, he will love me forever." It seldom works out that way. A relationship needs more depth.
A sexual addiction is not the problem, but a symptom of an underlying problem. The odd part is that sex does not make the sex addict happy, but it does make the feel that they belong.
There is a book called The Casanova Complex by Peter Trachtenberg that has been out of print for a long time, but if you can find a copy, it will provide you with a lot more detail about the addiction. Or, you might find an SA meeting, and ask them how to tell if you are an addict. Usually, simply asking the question is a big clue to being one

Its all about chemicals actually and you don't decide to become an addict of any kind. You can't help what does it for you.

It ain't an excuse either, i know people who are insanely addicted to sex. They would go crazy if they don't do it every week or so.
This often happens when a person is exposed to too much sexual content, such as watching too much pornography, seeing others being intimate, or had sex too much and now it's like a regular habit for them.
I don't know about an addiction, but who can ever really get "too much" loving?? What is the harm anyway? It's not like a drug or alcohol addiction, it doesn't harm anyone, as long as it is with a willing partner of course.
Addiction is when ur body becomes desensitzed to a chemical
In the case of sex it is the endorphins released during sex and the massive release at the point of climax.
Do it often enough and ur body gets used to them and it requires them more often in order to crave the good feeling.
So yes sex addiction is a genuine medical condition.
It is real and can cause people to do risky and dangerous things such as seeking out prostitutes and putting their own health at risk, as well as an addiction to pornography.
Well like any addiction the withdrawal symptoms are shear hell
