I wouldnt suggest therapy. I doesnt work for me. It only makes my life more confusing and doesnt solve anything. It's nice to talk to a punter every now and then but when it comes to substance abuse, it changes nothing. So if you want therapy only do it for your emotional problems, nothing more nothing less.

check with your church or temple

you are entitled to mental health treatment.

Rehab is not all that grerat trust me, especially if its nhs, you will walkout with an even worse outlook and fear of health services then when you walked in.

You are entitled to mental heath help: via your nhs you are able to get a therapist of some type, there are many types of therapy availible on the nhs and it depends on your area as the which type exactly are availble for you. CBT (Cognative Behavioural Therapy) tend to work weel for addictions, psychotherapy tends to try to reslove apst issues, group support is good for ensuring you get the kick upt the *ss you occassionally require (we all do btw), and there are manym other alcohol based programmes such as the 12 step programme which are avilible on the NHS.

There isnt normally a requirement to become an inpatient (is go to rehab) inless you are at life threatening states: eg self harming with massive knives in all the major arteories eveyday going to a&e for months on end, then the may admit you, or if you have an eating disorder, you have to be at not jsut a low weight, a life threateningly low weight- then you can join the list, if your body mass index is less then 13.5 which for a 5 foot 5 inches women is normally less then 4and a half stone, for a 5 ft 8inch women is 5 stone, basicly beds on "rehab" as you out it (they are actually called psychiatric units) dont come around alot. and they will turf you out as soon as you can muster the stregnth to say the work rehab!

You need to see your GP, unless you are at a life threatening position, they wont refer you to join the (years long- no seriously) waiting list for "rehab" (psychiatric hospital unit) but they WILL refer you for treatment and may also let you know if the support groups in your area. From the referal you will be hooked up with a CPN (Community Psychiatric Nusrce) who will help you to help yourself get better.

There wont be a rehab to fix all the problems while you lay there with your eyes shut, you have to change your own life and it wont be easy.

But it will be worth it. Definatly.

Good luck.
