Has anyone tried the antideppresant Lexipro? If so, how fast did it start to wor!

Question: Yes, I took it for almost 3 years. I started taking it after I got diagnosed with post partum depression.

It worked wonders on me. I loved the way it made me feel. But after a while it took away my sex drive. And I gained 45lbs in 3 years from it. Weight gain or loss is a side effect. I had to be taken off of because of the sex drive and weight gain thing and was placed on Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is alright..doesn't cause weight gain but in person opinion it wasn't as strong as lexapro.

P.S. I've heard from other woman that they didn't' have any weight gain with it. So I think it differs with every person

Sorry! LOL!

About two weeks to really kick in

I'm on Lexapro. I noticed a difference in my mood the first day that I took it. I normally hate to be around people, wait in waiting rooms, or be in a hospital. The very same day that I started Lexapro, my mother-in-law had to be hospitalized. I was able to sit in the waiting rooms and was calm.

About 2 hours. you need to wait about two weeks before you can started feeling the effects
Lexapro helps to restore the brain's chemical balance by increasing the substance in the brain, that is believed to influence the mood.
You have to start to see for symptoms like
nausea, insomnia, problems with ejaculation, somnolence, increased sweating, fatigue. Good luck and talk to your doctor..!

I take it, about 3 weeks to see a difference. I didn't have side effects with this medication but everyone is different. God Bless!

It took me about 2-3 weeks for it to begin working. You need to try and take it everyday for it to be effective. However, this medicine might not work for you. I had to try 3 different medicines before I found one that worked for me. It all depends on your neurotransmitters and the way your body reacts to the medicine. Good luck!
