Scratching isnt as worse as cutting right?!

Question: I just scratch myself. Enough to make a mark and less enough to make it bleed

Answers: I just scratch myself. Enough to make a mark and less enough to make it bleed

i did that the other day. i haven't done it in over 10 yrs (stratching) i'm a SI'er & just got done telling someone else, talk to someone, write it out in a journal. get whats bothering you out of your system. be safe , try to at least. no one can stop you, you are in control. tho remember you are not the only one. hang in there. im around if you need to talk.

the urge to scratch comes from the same place as cutting, and could actually be worse because its easier to hide from people who could help you. please see a counselor or a psychologist asap.

No, it's not neccessarily as bad as cutting, but it's still a form of self-mutilation.
There's a possibility that you'll start needing more, and then start cutting yourself.

Find a better way to release stress, or whatever the reason you have for scratching yourself is.

I've still got the scars on my thigh(22 years on) from when I dug my fingernails into my leg and tore them up my leg.
Was really upset over something, but whatever it was, I can't remember it, too long ago.
Haven't done anything like that since.
Edit: My father constantly sexually and physically abused me from a very young age.

i cut my self when im pissed and ya i fell numb at the time cuz im up set but i regret it later cuse of scaring as long as you dont leav a scare than you will be ok but realy you should not do that unless you have bad nerves and dont smoke believ me do as i say not as i do i dont know you but i want better for you cuz i know what you r going though and you will regret it

I did that before, I didn't know that there were other people that did it too. I knew about cutting, so i guess I didn't consider it as bad but only because i knew that cutting was serious. I guess they both come from the same place, so they're probably just the same.
