If your brother is truly an alcoholic, then the best thing you can do is distance yourself so that you're not caught in HIS self-destruction. You cannot help him until he WANTS help. Get yourself to an Al-anon meeting. This will be explained to you in detail and give you an insight on him you don't have now. Don't give up. It may look and feel hopeless, but it's not. You need to protect yourself emotionally until he hits bottom and asks for help. THEN you can be there if you wish. Best of luck.

Tough love my friend. Your brother should be earning his own living. He is 21! In my opinion, if you are not going to college, 18 is the time to become your own man and move out of mommy and daddy's domain. It does sound like he has some substance abuse problems, but I think it might be due to the fact that he is being enabled.
