The best way that I have found is to be prepared. There are certain situations that come up and trigger your temper, right? Think about them and have a plan in mind for how to react. For example, if your mother tends to make comments that tick you off, think of something neutral to say, like I'm sorry you feel that way. Then when she makes that kind of comment you will be prepared and your temper will not get away from you.

take deep breaths or go to a therapist.

just think in ur head that every1 is stupid and theres nothing u can do about there moron moves

Meditation, and therapy I would suggest

find a healthy outlet for it.

my son had real anger issues, and lashed out alot.

we put him in taekwondo, and now he handles things so much better.

which is making me think i need some sort of outlet..

you might want to try a martial art or other contact sport.

ahhhh...sounds lyk my dad...well every time u get heated up about sumthin jus shake ur feet..that loosens up all the tense muscles...if that duz not wurk use the method called "snap n' clap" u just snap ur fingers bring ur arms to ur side and clap...repeat it until you've calmed down...

good luck

Take yourself away from the situation and take a deep breath and give yourself time to rethink the situation (your actions/words) before you act/say them. Don't do things rashly, take time, pull yourself away and rethink. If it's a major issue, then contact a therapist and he/she will help you through it.

Anger management classes. They seriously do help.

When angry, count to 10 before you speak. When very angry, count to 100.

Take an anger management course. There are some available through social agencies if you can't afford it. I took one not thinking much of it. I was amazed how much I learned. Also, it was in a group setting. I got to hear other's problems, got to realize I wasn't the only one, got to realize some people had it worse than me. And it has helped me greatly. GO FOR IT.

have a look at some of the anger management sites, they have excellent tips for controlling it.

i've got bipolar, and often have some major issues controlling my temper. stuff like deep breathing, counting to ten in your head when someone annoys you can help. also this may sound a bit odd, but try finding a long-ish poem you like and learn it. if someone annoys you at work or at home etc, recite it in your head and try to remember it exactly as it was written. that way you are focused on something other than your anger. this is the tool i use the most for controlling my anger.

also i find swimming excellent for releasing pent up energy and calming me down which helps control it. good luck!

My brother takes a big knife and hacks a log when he is mad, I somtimes take a hand full of markers and a sheet of paper and go crazy. But my favorite thing to do is take a bunch of broken dishes and glasses and dead light bulbs I've collected over the month and smash them in the dumpster, Tons of fun!!

Well, the first step is admiting that you actaully have a problem. So, now you must be true to yourself. Do you really want to stop this and am I strong enough to stop it. Some people say that they want to stop things but in reality have no self determination. If you think you are strong enough I suggest always keeping on your toes about. Constantly tell yourself that you can do this and control your anger. Now when something does happen that is starting to aggrivate you. Just Stop and walk away, take a breath. Keep a journal by you and simply write down what you are mad about and why it made you feel this way. Then after you hav had a moment to think go back to what you where doing. Later on that day read what you wrote. You might find that your anger is from something you might not have ever known. The journal is to help you target the problem. If you keep writing about things that made you mad and why they made you mad you might find that it could be the same thing in every conflict. Now I suggest if you are not willing to try this then maybe you should see a phycologist because they may be able to find out why you are this way faster.

The deep breath thing works if you count to 10 or 20 while you do it. Chewing gum helps relieve tension also.
