Anyone have any experience with ECT???!

Question: I have a loved one who has severe Bipolar and is not responding to meds anymore. His condition seems to be getting worse. The doctors that have seen him don't seem to know what else to do.My family and I are so worried he will hurt himself in some way. Can anyone please tell me what kind of reaction you had to ECT good or bad? Thank you so much!!! We are trying to seek other treatment options besides the pills.

The stories of memory loss are highly exaggerated and/or are usually short term. I used to assist in delivering this therapy, and I've seen it work true miracles. Sometimes tho, it simply has no effect at all. Amazingly; science doesn't fully know why it works, nor why it sometimes doesn't. They have a new bipolar drug out called Amblify. Has that been tried yet? Good luck... it's a terrible disease, and those who have it are truly innocent and faultless. I hope he gets better soon :)

Electroconvulsive therapy has a bad press because it was very poorly done in the past. In modern practise however it is does under anaesthetic (the patient is unconcious) and has no memory or awareness of being shocked.

It can be useful, and shouldn't be ruled out as a treatment option, but as with anything there is no guarantee it will work.

yes i have had experience with ecstasy...its awesome...you should try it

There are lots of home remedies available instead of pills. You can try and do some research on internet and you shoudl be able to get it.
check my blog even i have some tips for you to get rid of these.

I have severe Bipolar and several years ago I was stuck in a bad mood place. I had ECT. I didn't really like it, but I'm sure it saved my life.
