How can I relax?!

Question: I stress so easily. I'm so paranoid, and I'm always thinking of what could possibly go wrong next. I never wind down even when I know everything's all right and there's nothing to worry about. I'm easily irritable and I have a difficult time controlling my temper. In fact, just a few minutes ago I nearly bit my mom's head off when she asked me why I was on the computer. I just need to calm down and relax, but I can't! How? Help!

kleptoma is right. normally i would suggest self-hypnosis of sorts but normal self-therapy won't work in this case i'm afraid. =/
but if you ever heard of self-suggestion, it might help. basically you keep telling yourself something so long that you eventually start to belive it(even if you don't think so).

i know from experience that telling oneself "it will be allright" can help, even if a little in the begining. all you have to do is belive it.
=) (easy to say, i know. but try it and eventually you might get results). alternativelly, you can take up active sports like running or martial arts. i reccomend the latter, because you can't shut your brain down.

about your temper, you have taken the first step already - you know the problem. =) the next step is not erasing it, but rather getting to know it better - "know thy enemy, and thou shalt know whence to strike".

alternative optimism:
you may feel like getting angry, but try thinking of your reasons before you go rocky balboa on their *sses. =P take your time, breathe and thin., And when you're done thinking you'll notice you're not angry at all. ;D

calming down can be really difficult at times. especially when people irritate you, it can be hard not to explode at them. try to find something that you find calming to think about. counting and breathing exercises can help you focus on something neutral. don't focus on NOT thinking about angry things, but try not to let your mind linger on angry things (yes,i know its hard)
if there is something stressing you, and there is someone you would trust with telling this, talk it. that helps. it doesnt have to be someone close, just as long as you trust them not to spread it around.
when someone annoys you, concentrate on replying calmly, if the irritation is irrational, or not answering, if you have reason to be annoyed. try to remove yourself from the situation without making it worse (i.e. dont just run away while your mum's talkin to you)

hope that helped. im not very good at making advice coherent, so sorry if its confusing.

lay off the caffeine,go buy some epsom salts and add 2 cups to a hot bath, it is just a stage and since you know you are being a bigger bag then normal stay away from those that get on your nerves......more exercise will help too

i want to know the same thing
just get your mind off of things.
thats what i do
do something with your hands like homework
or wash a car
it really does work
then you will want to relax and watch t.v.
