Do I have schizophrenia?!??!?!?!?!?.!
Question: I am 15, and everyone is accusing me of having schizophrenia because i talk to myself alot (when i'm alone). I get embarassed when people catch me doing this, but i can't stop. It's like a play that keeps on going and going in my head. I can't help it...i just get bored and sometimes i get so detatched from reality that i tend to make up things that don't exist (Not fantasy-like). I just think it is an innocent form of escapism. When i get into it, i'm not the person i really am--It's hard to explain these dream-like periods though. It's a 24/7 thing. I've researched schizophrenia and i don't have any of the symptoms except for maybe one, but otherwise, i'm normal. I need advice.......

schizophrenia is defined by hallucinations, visionary and auditory.
as long as you're not seeing or hearing anything that's not there, i'm pretty sure that's just an intense form of day dreaming. if you're still concerned, talk to your doctor.

You just talk to yourself. My husband and son both do this. They are NOT schizophrenic.
schizophrenia should NOT BE SELF DIAGNOSED it can be other things PLEASE talk to a professional, your family doctor, or councillor at school. this site is not full of DOCTORS
