How much sleep do you think a night person needs daily?!

Question: Just wondering. I'm a night person, but even if I manage to fall asleep early, I still can't get enough sleep.

Answers: Just wondering. I'm a night person, but even if I manage to fall asleep early, I still can't get enough sleep.

Teenagers and adolescents generaly need at least 7-9 hours of sleep because they are growing. With adults it varies with individual need. Some can get by and function on only 4-5 hours, others may need 11. It depends really on the person's lifestyle, how active they are, and the pattern that they've developed. As for health, your sleeping pattern needs to fit with your daily schedule and it needs to be consistent for your body to get the appropriate rest and function to the best of its ability, mentaly as well as physically.

i really wish i knew. sorry, ur a complicated sleeper. I would say anybody just needs like 8 hours of sleep. =/

I strongly believe that it varies from person to person. I absolutely NEED at least 8 or 9 hours, whereas my husband can get by on probably 5 or less.

I try and get 8 hours of sleep, rarely does it actually happen.. but I try (:

8hrs

i get 3-6 hours mayb less but i feel fine thnx 2 my buddy the Coffee XD and the adverage human is supposed to get 6-8 XD i watch da Health Chennals and da Health part of da news every so often and i was watching a sleep thing on da Health Chennal while eating Waffles XD

5-6

7hours

It doesn't matter when you go to sleep and wake up, you still need to sleep 8 hours at minimum.

It totally depends on the person, and their age. As an infant, all the way up into my 20's I needed 12 hours of sleep.

However I was a VERY late bloomer. I grew until I was 24 years old. I reached a "staggering" height of 5'2", but it took me 24 years to do so.

Obviously I was a bit different than other children, who could get by on much less sleep.

Now that I'm in my 40's, I can get by with 8 hours.

So entirely dependant on the person, if they are growing, or recovering from illness, and what heredity gave them in term of sleep need.

I understand Martha Stewart only sleeps about 4-5 hours a night.

The average person is about 8 hours.

I simply do not sleep for weeks and months at a time, finally I now have drug induced sleep, but I can still stay awake despite horse sized tranquilisers. they say the older you get the less sleep you need, but i do prefer 12 hours or more when on the medication. 6-8 hours is average for a person in their 20's or so, it all depends on how active you are during the day. Avoid any daytime sleeps even naps, monitor stimulant use such as sugar coffee nicotine recreation drugs.

There is one thing you can be sure of, no one died from lack of sleep, you will crash one day, not nice. Even if you just lie in bed, maybe some nice music you are at least resting, but there are a lot of contributing factors to sleep disturbance. Maybe you have sleep apnoea (spelling) this means you wake up dozens of times a night without realising it and it shags you out. talk to your doctor is the best advice i can give. Good luck

8 hours. eventhough i dont i have sleep problemsl

The recommended amount is 8hrs, more if you're a child/teen.
You're body doesn't always function properly if you don't have much.

It depends on the individual. The older(we're talking elderly) a person gets, the less sleep their body craves because their sleep cycle changes. Most people sleep between 5-10 hours, with 6 being the average. Personally, I'm a night owl and don't fall asleep till close to 2 am. l usually function best after 8 hours of sleep but in reality, I'm lucky if I get 6.
