The Mayo Clinic reports that, in addition to stress reduction and relaxation, meditation helps conditions such as allergies, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic pain, depression, high blood pressure and heart disease.

Plus it really helps you focus. You can read the Mayo Clinic's report and tips for meditating at http://meditationbliss.blogspot.com/2008...

Good luck!

the priest went to the wall, and came away enlightened.

Very beneficial for anxiety related problems. It helps with breathing, sleeping, concentration etc.

are you talking about anti-depressants ? Anti-depressants benefit people who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD. Depending on how severe your case is and how many mg of the medication your on, you may start to notice a change in your actions or the way you think. Some anti-depressants may take several weeks to work. Anti-depressants are also addictive to your body and you need to ween yourself off them you can't just stop taking them otherwise you may get withdrawal symptoms. If it's anti-anxiety medication such as valium or ativan then this is a little different as it makes your body relaxed. Valium lasts longer than ativan which only lasts four hours these medications are very addictive and should only be used in very extreme anxiety or panic.
