Anxiety issues due to a bad palm reading, please help?!

Question: I had a palm reading years ago just for fun, but what the palmist told me has in the last few years started to cause me great anxiety and depression, He told me I would live a short life, so this scares me and want to move on but keep getting stuck in the same old pattern where I think everything will turn out for the worst, someone did tell me that what he saw was the death of an old life and the beginning of a new life ( I hope this is true). I have been to councelling but no luck there.

Look for the root of your fear, anxiety and depression. I see two.

1) Fear of death
2) Belief based on what was said

Do you genuinely desire to be free of this belief, and to be free of the fear of death? There is another way.

I do not fear my own death, nor when that might happen. When a person chooses what to believe, they choose based on something, some authority. Some things are truth. So are false. When you choose to believe in something that is historical, you do so based on documentation that can be verified by others. (A team won the superbowl; Men walked on the moon; Kennedy was assassinated; Jesus died on a wooden cross....and on the 3rd day in the grave he came alive and walked out....) These things were viewed by many people. Over 500 listened to Jesus talk after he came back to life. We see TV footage of Kennedy in Dallas and of Man's first steps on the moon. Thousands and more watch the superbowl.
Who or what do you base your belief on that the palm reader speaks truth? _________.
Do you know the source of his message? I have read in the most documented and historically verified book ever written that palm reading and psychics are speaking for Satan himself - also known as the Deceiver, the Devil. In the chapters near the back, called First Peter, says to be vigilant because "the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour".
As of today and the past few years you have believed the Devil's words to be truth, and it has caused you great fear that has interfered with your life.
Would you prefer to believe Jesus words - or the Devil's?
In contrast Jesus spoke (in John chapter 3) "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son (Jesus), that whosoever believes on him should not perish (go to hell), but have everlasting life (with Jesus in heaven).

What do you choose to believe? -- fear and death with Satan? -- or that you are loved by God and choose life with Jesus?

While counselors do address people's anxiety,
Palm readers address people using fear,
Christians and ministers speak of a faith that throws out fear of death.
This is why I do not fear death. I know there is more to come, and with Jesus in heaven.

Who do you choose to believe? Consider talking with someone who's life is not based on fear.

Realize that it is all BS and stuff like this is why I'm glad to be an atheist.

The palm reader knows nothing other than how to sell palm readings to insecure folks. Don't let them allow their random words to hurt others by becoming self-fulfilling prophecies!

You have to ask yourself one question... Why do these people work for 20 dollars a reading, when they can play the lottery and live rich??? Have you ever thought of that. It is all BS. I think you should go to two or three more palm reading people or even the same person if you know where she is and KNOW for a FACT they will all tell you different things.. Next time ask them about your past, check for yourself that they know NOTHING!! Get it out of your head and live your life and be happy. How about people that have cancer and they know for a fact that they will die?? Most of them try to live their last days being happy and enjoying life. SO get out of that mood, and don't for a second think bad things. BE HAPPY!!!

geez, i feel so bad for you and everything that random person that knows nothing about you has put you through.

Trust me,...that "palm reader" was sooooooo wrong...there is no way that person was right. It's impossible to look into someones future! ....

do you believe me? no? well you believed that other random person that made your life a living hell

Live life, laugh, love..... because it's gonna be a long one.
if not your gonna regret it when you are much older, you will regret that you let that freak control your life

no need to wish you luck, just live your life...
and if there is anyone you should believe in it's yourself and god (that is only if you believe in god, if not then just disregard what i said and just belive in yourself)

I had one done a few years ago and NONE of it came true. In fact the opposite. I was told I would marry an Irishman. My new husband is Oriental. lol. So many other things. You just need to move on.

I am SO sorry this person traumatized you. Because this is exactly what you are describing -- a trauma, which left a mark that your rational mind cannot discount. I can see why ordinary counseling didn't help you. Trauma can't be simply "talked away," any more than a true phobia can be.

I would advise you to do two things: See a therapist who specializes in treating victims of trauma. Most therapists may not be familiar with your symptoms and be baffled by your "irrationality." A therapist with sufficient experience treating trauma victims knows other people just like you! It is less rare than you may imagine. Too many people are embarrassed by it, and won't tell anyone. They are afraid to look stupid, when in fact they cannot help how they feel. There is nothing "rational" about what a trauma victim believes. But the science of trauma itself is perfectly rational and quite well understood.

Second, do some reading of legitimate psychology books, and investigations of parapsychology. Real psychology will tell you about trauma, and similar conditions, and some of the classical psychoanalysts were interested in parapsychology. See what Carl Jung and his followers thought of it. They were skeptical as to whether these phenomena have a basis in physical reality, but they were all in agreement that many of these beliefs and symbols affect us psychologically, sometimes in a profound way.

If you learn about the legitimate psychoanalytic theories of symbol systems, you will feel a sense of personal power, and will not fall prey to these fakers. NO ONE CAN TELL YOUR FUTURE FROM YOUR PALM.

Remember, knowledge is power! Good luck.

I too had a bad palm reading and it caused a ton of anxiety and depression for me because it was sooo negative! I actually lost a ton of sleep about it but then things started happening that were total opposite of her predictions! I have finally been able to forget about it and not let it ruin my life anymore. My best suggestion for you would be to contact the montel show to see if you can get on to talk to Sylvia Browne she is AMAZING and truely psychic! If you cannot get on the show to be able to talk to her you can save up money to get a personal reading with her I believe it costs $700-$900 but I know it would be worth it for you! I sincerely believe that because you have had 2 totally different fortunes fortold that the negative reading was probably just a hoax! Good luck to you!

This was a palm reading, I had on another question, but is happened when I was 14, and I believed up until I was 22 I was going to die. STRESSED real bad over it. My mom and I fought a lot about it too. That whole year up til my B-day I wouldn't leave the house, and one scary thing happened that year. I will come back and edit, to explain. Thanks.
>>>>>>My palm read at 14--she was right about a few things, but very wrong about the most serious thing. A. she told me I'd marry several times, I did. B. she said I'd have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, I did. C. she said I'd live in a big house someday, and have all that I ever wanted, I did, briefly. D. she said I was reincarnated, I was a Indian maiden that died to young, so I was born again to full-fill and finish my life out, sometimes I have dreams, like I lived in the past, and my nickname (now) is atashanee (Cherokee for the loving one-Tash for short)
E. lastly, she said I would die an early death (again) and die at the age of 22 (which happens to be my favorite number and the date I married the first time) but I lived past 22, but from 14-22 from the age she told me, I believed I'd die at 22, I stayed home all day, scared to death like Final Destination, waiting for death to come. The next day I knew I was safe and could live dangerously again! LOL she was right a little bit, and there was 'no charge."
oh,

PS the year I was suppose to die, which she didn't know how old I was at the time, it was predicted by Nostradamus that the planets were going to be aligned in with the sun's orbit and rip the world apart from the gravitational pull, which was 1988---lots of people believed in his predictions, and so did I!
(I think) can't remember the year, but man, it was a big coincidence!
