Well, it looks like you've had some small successes in live and a few failures as well. That's about par for the course for many people, except you seem to have some natural intelligence gifts, as well.

But, like most people who have been fed through the public school system, you're a bit lacking in psychological strength. Your first reaction to the situation you're in is negative, which is natural, and the situation you're in is not the greatest. But now you have an opportunity to take some stock in life and decide where you want to go from here.

The best thing you might be able to do now is sit down and think about (and write about) what you've learned from your parents' financial condition, and how you can do better. How have they influenced your work ethic? How have their failures affected you? What would you have done differently if you were your parents and you had a 17 year old like yourself?

What you've learned so far is that school is useless in the real world, and job security for everyone is nonexistent. So, if you want a better life, you'll have to start taking some control back and learn from the successes and failures of those around you, including yourself.

Start by having an honest discussion with yourself about these issues. Thinking about them all day doesn't help anything. Start writing about them and solving the issues and giving yourself some credit. Get out of the stagnant situation and do something different, but start improving your own life, even just a little bit every day.

Good luck.

who says thats the road youre on?
what rubbish
:)

youre future is what you make it dude. trust me on that one.

go out, meet people who you want to be like and hang with them(no matter how uncomfortable you feel to take this step, you have a purpose to make your future rocking, so use that as your reasoning) so aim high if you want high, look for jobs, or apprentiships, especially those random things you've always "wanted" to do in your ideal life, but have never thought to do- ESPECIALLY seek those. just delve and try random things ok? worrying is for later. even if its just a few hours away :P

your 17 ?
so give yourself say 3years to really figure things out, to experiment and trial things, whatever you feel, just so you grow in as many was as possible.

it's great that youre assessing things now, your just like me :D and you know wht, now im living in budapest doing somehting totally random and who knows wht the future brings, but if im positive and am giving it a go. for me thats the best thing not to listen to others opinions or judgements on wht is best for me- but to discover it hands on.,
( not sitting back in an office job too scared to leave..)

all the best but. but trust me, you future looks hell promising to me :)

Instead of focusing on what you don't want, focus instead on what you do want, and then put all of your energy into creating that reality for yourself. You may want to go back to the community college program in order to accomplish the goal you choose. Make a list of all of the goals you have and takes steps toward achieving them. One would be to get your permit , of course. Just find out what you need to do, and do it. If you need money, get another job and save the money to accomplish it. Any thing you dream, you can do. You just have to think positive and start the process by making that first step. Get a notebook and sort out your short term goals first. Be thinking about what you want to do with your life so you can work on long term goals. But the journey itself is very important. The fact that you are making positive steps toward crating a new reality for yourself is very important. Good luck.
