knowledge has always been my most effective weapon against panic. I know for instance that panic is caused by a release of adrenaline in the brain, I also know that adrenaline is a short acting hormone, 15 minutes tops. So, if I breathe deeply and remain calm, the panic attack will end within 15 minutes. It's when I allow myself to react to the adrenaline, that the brain then just continues to pump it out and the panic will continue. Running may help some, it does burn up the adrenaline, but it also encourages the flight response, and the brain will often continue to produce more adrenaline.

i talk to myself, telling myself to calm down and to take deep breaths. Then I take deep breaths and keep reassuring myself that everything is okay. After about 5 mins of breathing I am good to go.
anxiety attacks are a serious pain in the butt!

go for a very fast long as your lungs hold run!!!!
be prepared for your panick attacks. keep your running gear at your bedside (they tend to wake you up right after you fall asleep) Go! Run!
Next step - run till you lose your breath before you start getting ready for bed, bad thoughts, panick or anxiety attacks hate sports -so, that's the medicine for those !
Run!

Take deep breates and think of other things that do not worry you. Keep reassuring your self that it is not the end of the workd and you can work through whatever it is that is bothering you. Also calling a good friends works too

BREATHING EXERCISES..........absolutely critical and they do control anxiety........plus of course get the anxiety root cause identified and treated

Deep-breathing and visualization. Visualize yourself in a calming situation, and take deep, slow, rythmnic, cleansing breaths in through mouth- out through nose.

Reassure yourself that it was just a programmed response to something that doesn't exist anymore.

hey yesterday I was in the beginning of a anxiety attack abd for the first time ever pulled myself out of it. What i did was tell myself that I was safe and noticed where I felt panicky. Then I went and got ice cubes and sat on the ground and rubbed it all over my body and it worked. Apparently when the ice touches your skin your body goes into shock and focuses on the ice block. Good Luck I hope this helps : )
