I am 11 weeks pregnant, I am super depressed, I also have bi-polar...?!

Question: What do you think is causing my depression? Is it situational? My Hubby and I have been fighting a lot and I feel really unapprecaited and he has an anger problem, and I hate seeing people lose their temper.

Is it hormal because of being pregnant?

Is it just a regular bout of depression?

Hormones!!! Bipolar is hard, my husband has it. But you can get real blue when you are pregnant, not just after. Your body is changing, you dont feel pretty any more, when infact, it is the most beautiful you will ever be in you whole life. You should try Yoga, it works for all things. Calming for the racing mind and body toning as well, plus it will make child birth easier as well. Congratulations, and enjoy the miracle of being a woman.

I would say it's hormonal but you should talk w/your Dr. about med reduction during pregnancy

Many things could be causing your depression, especially if you are bipolar. Fighting triggers part of it. Another part may be hormonal. Yet another may be just because of the bipolar swings you get. As someone who also has bipolar, I can empathize with what you are going through. Please talk to your psychiatrist or mental health professional since they would be better able to help you than a layman or even a regular health provider, in most cases. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Duck

Your hormones are running rampant throughout your pregnancy, and for many women, a few months afterward. You need to see your Dr about your meds and what is safe for you and your baby.
Have you and your hubby considered couples therapy? If your budget is an issue, most states have alternatives that adjust cost to your income. Your Dr should be able to refer you to a good therapist who will work within your budget.
If your husband refuses to seek help, you could, and should, seek help on your own. There is no shame in reaching out when you need a hand. Your emotional well being has a great effect on your health as well as the precious child you are carrying.
(and try to bear in mind that your husband may be scared Sh#tess about the baby, and many men do not handle fear in an adult manner!!!)

Maybe you don't want this baby
