you need to distract your self by reading bill boards or posters, make sure your breathing is slow and feel all your muscles in your body to make sure there all relaxed, because the sweating is due to your body getting ready to run or fight if you sort your breathing and relax your body the rest will follow x

Dont worry I do this too. Sometimes u just gotta stop movement and pause to cool down.

It really is all mental. What I do is just try not to think about it and try to become as confident as possible. I know how you feel but its all in your head. Be confident and DONT think that everyone is looking at you, etc.

Its a sort of panic attack and the only way to combat it is to force yourself to get out there. You need to take deep breaths and calm down. It used to happen to me when i didnt go out much. You can stop this you just need to fight it.

You have social anxiety. I've had it for years, all my life I guess. My doctor gave me a little pill, an antidepressant called Lexapro, and I made a dramatic improvement. Now I can actually make speeches without my heart rate even going up. Talk to your doctor about it. Social anxiety. It's a disease.

First i will like to say some thing about how to come out of your problem, its natural that more you will run away from the problem, more it will come to you. you start going to such places and every time try to be few more steps ahead, this slow but steady movement towards public place will help you to overcome of your problem. Now as you are presently in a condition where no preaching advice will work unless you get relief, so you go to a Psychiatrist who will prescribe some quick relief medicines and also make you learn to get out from this problem called "Social Phobia"

I understand how you feel.
You may find the link below helpful. Underarm sweating can be controlled using antiperspirants such as Driclor. The rest of your body is more difficult.
Wear natural fibres which allow the skin to cool and breathe more easily. A white top/shirt shows less wetness than colours. Give yourself plenty of time if you have an appointment. Rushing around gets the adrenalin going and you'll sweat more. Running your hands and wrists under cool water also seems to help.
Breathing slowly and evenly calms the body.
As you learn these little tricks of keeping the sweating at bay you'll relax more and the problem will be less noticable. It really is more apparent to you than to anyone else. Good luck.

same thing happend to me before i went on prozac :). seriously, its called social anxiety and you just described most of the symptoms. if this has been happening for a long period of time, perhaps a visit to a pyschologist is neccesary, if its only in the past few weeks, perhaps you need to really get down to exactly why your feeling this way. is there something else that is really stressing you out? midterms, girls, ect. if you cant seem to do this, like i said, visit a psychologist first, not a psychiatrist. dont automatically assume you need medication because it is a long and difficult process to try to find a pill that works with your body chem. good luck!
