keep yourself very busy. and i wouldn't call home a lot. make yourself get used to being away or make wherever ur living now really feel like your new home. i used to get so homesick early on in college and i just had to make new friends and start over till after awhile the new place felt like my home.

I am always homesick and I'm 63! It helps to keep in touch with family, go visit them or have them come to you. I think if you continue this way you had best move back home. I won a free trip to Europe for 21 daz and cried to go home![ I was 26] I still have not moved back. [someday? I hope]

I am 60. My dad was in the Air Force when I was growing up. He has two assignments where Mother, my sister and I could not go with him. We stayed at my grandfather's house. Until I retired from the Air Force myself. The longest time I ever had lived anywhere we my grandfather's house. He died in 1986. I still consider that house my home. I miss him and the house. They tore it down. I haven't gone back there since he died. I still pick up the phone and dial Chapel 9-5564, but hang up before it rings.

10 years ago last fall my Mother died of cancer. I still turn around and think I saw her. When the phone rings I hope it is her. I think about all the good things about her, it helps me get out of a funk.

I have been married for 37 years to my college sweetheart. We have a wonderful home, two great daughters and two wonderful grandchildren. But yes I am still a little homesick. I also wish I was 6 when I would play catch with my grandfather or when I was 9 and my father and I built a train layout together. I am lucky dad at 83 is still around and remarried. My only problem is he lives across the country from me. But we keep in touch with email and telephone.

Think about the good things at home. Call every once in awhile just to hear their voices. Send emails to let them know what is going on. You will be OK.
