What is the difference between a BiPolar manic episode and a sleep deprived mani!

Question: There is no difference. The deprivation of sleep is the trigger to the manic episode.

Answers: There is no difference. The deprivation of sleep is the trigger to the manic episode.

They are very similar. Being manic is a behaviour (uncontrolled). It dosen't matter how it's brought on...the behaviour itself is the same from my experience working in the psychiatric ward.

they're the same thing. the difference is that lack of sleep TRIGGERS the episode instead of it just occuring as part of a bipolar cycle.

Sounds like the same animal to me. Lack of sleep almost always kicks off a manic episode, or at least alerts me to it lurking nearby.
