Water cures depression?!

Question: I have heard that drinking enough water every day reduces depression. Is this true?

I went on a diet that involved drinking 80 ozs of water a day. I felt pretty good.. i now should be drinking 60 but have slacked off. I know others who really think it's fantastic. It's a great first shot.. can't hurt by starting with the most basic thing.. hydration. It takes a few days for your body to adjust to all the extra water. You won't need to use the bathroom as much after the 3rd day.
I did the water diet (see second link, scroll to bottom left and click weight loss) and lost 44 lbs. The list on the left also includes depression & anxiety testimonials regarding the water cure. Good luck.

I highly doubt it

I've never heard of that before in my life and I'm 49.

Now, if you are extremely thirsty and depressed about that, I'm sure it helps.

i've never heard of that. but water gives you more energy which keeps you more active so maybe in a small way it can help but i don't think so.

No that's nonsense. Sometimes it's necessary to have a 12 week course of anti depression medication.

Don't think so. But try it. Maybe it is true. I wouldn't know. :]
Try praying. ;) And going to pray-overs or something.

NO i have depression and water is all i drink and it hasnt helped me any

depression is usually a chemical imbalance i dont think water would change that

It releases the toxins from your body. They may lead to stress, and I suppose the releasing of those toxins have some sort of effect.

It usually keeps me hydrated, and buoyant.

No. I have depression and I never noticed that drinking water helps it in any way.

I work in mental health too, and I never heard a psychiatrist say anything like that.

It is possible to have neurological and other health problems if you drink too much or too little water, but I have never heard of that being a cause of depression in particular.

socialize to humans as much as you can. that the most common solution. solutions depends on how you obtain depression. but there is no cure to it. even antidepressant.

never heard of that...

some sunlight does though.
