Effexor XR withdrawal see details?!
Question: I have been on Effexor for 8 months. I am now getting off of it. I was on 150mg for most of the time. The doctor said do 150 every other day for one week and the drop to 75 every other day for one week and so on.. Today was the first day of 75mg. I am feeling very weird things. I feel like I have the flu but know I don't. My head spins constantly. Spins for lack of a better word. I don't know what to call it, I almost want to say my brain jiggles like jello. My fingers and toes tingle. I am very, very anxious almost completely hyper. Does anyone have any experience with this? Am I going about withdrawing wrong?

i don't take effexor xr but I've been on pain meds that i had to get off of for a back surgery.it sounds like how i felt trying to ween off the pain meds except mine was with more symptoms.i think you are going through with Drawls and i think your dr. is taking you off the wrong way. you need to with draw slowly like maybe 25mgs. each week or 2. 75mgs. is to much to fast.talk to him about the way your feeling and see if there are lower doses you can take.take it from me the symptoms will only get worse if you don't take it slower i was losing my mind, vomiting,shaking all the time,couldn't stop moving my legs,i would rock back and forth all the time to try to calm down nothing worked but i had to do it in a short amount of time because of a much needed back surgery.i would get back on the 150mgs. every other day and go see your Dr. i feel bad for you and would not want you to get any worse.withdrawals from certain meds to fast can be dangerous,painful,and scary.good luck!!!
i take it and if i miss a day i feel like i have a head full of water, dizzy i think you should talk to your dr. about it
