Just start a new routine for yourself and over time your body will adapt to it.

When parents want to put there kids to sleep, they just make the child lay in the bed and eventually the child goes to sleep. Maybe, although not a child, if you follow the same method it may work for you.
While laying in the bed, read a book, mediate or do something that really bores you. If you keep practicing this and keep going to bed early, then over time, your body will adapt and be use to it so when it's 7..8...or 9 O'clock and you are ready to have fun, your body will be naturally tired.

I don't know! I mean I go to bed "early" anyway because I gets my sleep so.....I don't see why it would be so hard but yeah.

Try laying down in bed and reading... That puts me right to sleep.

reading usually makes your eyes get really heavy and tired. try some relaxing tea too before you get into bed. i know, lame, but it might make your mind and body more ready to relax and sleep.

Just read a book before going to bed.
Or listen to some ocean sound cds while laying in bed with your eyes shut.

Try focusing on different parts of your body and tensing/relaxing them, or exercising more (at least 3 hours before bed though)

warm milk with a little bit of nutmeg or tea helps too.

I think what you can try to do is just really relax and get a good meal before going to bed then after that while in bed listen to some soothing music or something relaxing b/c then that can really help you go to sleep

Reduce the amount of sugar you consume.

Don't have anything that has caffeine in it after midday. It can take up to a month for your body to get back to normal after cutting out Caffeine. So give it time..

Try setting your alarm an hour earlier in the morning. Take this time to get breakfast or watch the morning news or something. Maybe if you start getting up earlier you will fall asleep earlier. Believe me, I get up at 3:45 every morning. It's all I can do to say awake past 9:00p.m..

Eat more food, you might be tired because you are actually hungry, your body is slowing you down because it does not have enough energy. Or just change your diet, try different foods in the morning and a few snacks between classes instead of a big lunch. EXERCISE, running or biking in the morning or during the day releases endorphins (chemicals that make you more alert, thus not tired). It will also make you actually sleep at night instead of just "resting for a long time".

Your body naturally produces a hormone called melatonin. If there are any lights on or your room is too hot this can slow the body's production of melatonin. Try keeping your room at 68 degrees or cooler. Cover all the windows with dark blankets. You can also take melatonin, it is over the counter and comes in 3mg tablets. Take it about an hour before you want to lie down.

You can try to fall asleep to music or a sound machine. Something that's soothing and quiet. You can also fall asleep when someone is rubbing your back. Even though you might not like pills try Melatonin. It works for me. You can buy it from any store. Just to be sure ask ure parent or doctor for approval. The pills are easy to sallow my nine year old sister can swallow it. Sweet Dreams

I used to do my workout at night and it would keep me awake for hours so working out in the morning helps. But few things do make you sleepy:

1. Eat meat for dinner an hour before you go to sleep. The stomach enzymes work hard to dissolve meat and thus causing fatigue. Turkey meat especially.

2. Sometimes liquor can help. A shot or two of hard liquor.

3. Elevator music may help some people.

4. Counting sheep. Just like the Aserta mattress commercial...

5. Reading a book in bed.

Some to name a few............

i take melatonin every nite to go to sleep. it works like a dream at putting me to sleep. its all natural. it the best thing for a racing mind when you lay down. try the gnc brand cherry flavor. its only $3
