Question: My son is 2 years old. He has a huge delay in speech. Delays in several other areas. He has to see 2 therapists a week and may have to have more developmental therapy than that.

You need to get a lawyer and have alot of patience. Good Luck. Although it seems to be easier to get it as a child than an adult.
i dont know if they give SSI to y9oung kids like that unless if they have a sever handicapped. maybe if the kid was a lil older. 2 yr olds, if you need money...i dunno, i wouldnt think they would. if your child was 10 or something & has problems, i could see it that way. sorry im not much help. they probably wont til he's older. if you fight it, get a good laywer.
Call social Security administrtion and ask them. I really think it depends on you household income.
I would concur with go on line and check Social Security Administration.
My real concern, after reading your question is how this is effecting you.
There is a web sight use, "Virginia Satir, people making". I believe you will find information there that will be helpful in coping with the stress you must be experiencing.
Get him into a program for people who have developmental delays, then talk with a social worker in the program to see what is possible and what you have to do. In California, it would be a regional center of a particular county, ie Los Angeles County Regional Center. I don't know how other states do this.
