How do I go to bed earlier???!


Question: I always have the problem of staying up really late. Every day, I usually stay up until 1-2 AM, on school nights, and 4 AM on weekends. The thing is I wake up early, and it leaves me tired. How do I go to bed earlier. is there a way i can fix my sleeping cycle??? I'm tired all the time, and i wanna get in the habit of goign to bed earlier, lik 10-11 PM. any tips???

Some people are naturally nocturnal, but you can alter your schedule by getting up and going to bed at the same times every day/night. Making sure that you get enough physical exercise during the day so that you are tired enough to sleep at night. You can avoid heavy and spicy foods as well as anything with caffeine in it in the late afternoons and evenings. Additionally, you can develop a healthy bed time ritual that will cue your body into knowing it's time to wind down. Things like taking a warm bath or shower, reading a book or other simple tasks.

Try to become physically active around 8 or 9 you will make your body tired once your blood flow slows down. Little wear your self out.

Try drinking warm milk. It actually works

make your eyes go crosseyed for about a minute, then when they are back to normal you will be sleepy. After that read a book in the dark to make your eyes strain and get VERYYY tired!!! hehe. dont do it too much though.

i wish i new my bed times like at 4am..i just cant do it any earlier..

Yes stay off the computer , dont drink or eat any sugar or caffine,
try not to smoke or do drugs, stay active and wake up early, you need to get on a set schedule and not just do it when you feel like it....

Decide when you want to be in bed.
2 hours before that start finishing up whatever you need to get done and start unwinding.
Create a winding down routine. (like turning off the tv or computer and making instant hot chocolate and reading in bed.)
Set an alarm for bedtime/ lights out/ if you have to. (If you KNOW you'll be awake anyway.)
Try taking melatonin. It's good for regulating sleep.
I have the same problem. The routine works pretty well for me. I'm just able to accomplish more at night without interuptions and tend to stay up all night and sleep all day if I let myself.
I haven't tried the melatonin, only because right now I'm on pain meds for recent surgery and that works great for going to bed.

im writing this at 3oclock am and i have school in a few hours, ussualy i fall asleep with a few hits of marijuana(pills only give me headachs and dont work)just try it i garrentee you itll work(im up this late cuz im out right now)

Hello Justin - U answered ur Q. Trick 2 sleep is get same amount daily. See how U feel w/ 8 hrs / nite.

try getting up at 6am-go for a 20-40 min run and come home and have shower and brekky of cereal and juice.Have a good protien lunch.In the afternoon you could go for another run and whilst out do some situps and crunches.Have a light dinner and stop drinking teas,coffees or softdrinks and stick to water.Turn the computer off by 10pm and try relax from there,even if you lay and listen to softer music(maybe read).when/or if you wake up,restless,Dont turn the computer on,go and get another drink and go back to bed.This will be a bit hard at first,but if you stick to a routine your body clock will change and you will feel a heap better.cheers :)

Work out at night. do pushups,crunches and anything else you can do. That will make your body tired. You will go to sleep feeling tired and you will wake up feeling well rested.

gosh i have the same problem here except on school nights the only reason why i stay up late is cause i procrastinate like woah on my homework. i wish i could go to sleep that early too.
anyways you should just lie in bed till you fall asleep. and like you shouldnt go on the computer an hour before you go to sleep because i read somewhere like its bad or somethin. and all those other stuff that keep you awake.
& the best thing to do is to like go to sleep and wake up everyday at the same time. well at least sleep everyday at the same time. yeah i hoped i helped.
