Ive heard that anti-depressants have dangerous side effects..???!

Question: I've taken the following anti-depressants:

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (Prozac and Citalopram)
Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (Effexor)
Tricyclic antidepressants (Amitriptyline)

And I have had no dangerous side-effects from any of them. Only when I took Citalopram I had no sex drive, but I wouldn't class that as dangerous :) It was the most effective of the bunch though.

Some of them do, but most of them are perfectly safe. This is why you go to a doctor to get them, and work with him in tracking how you are doing while taking them.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT MEDICATIONS. A MEDICATION CAN WORK FOR ONE PERSON AND NOT FOR ANOTHER IT JUST ALL DEPENDS. I WAS ON EFFEXOR FOR MY DEPRESSION WHEN I WAS 16 AND IT MADE ME SUICIDAL. BUT THIS GIRL I KNEW TOOK IT AND IT HELPED HER SO IT REALLY ALL DEPENDS.

very true.

Every drug on the market has side effects. You just have to weigh the good and bad about taking them when you need them. The cons-it might have side effects
The Pros It helps the depression
Sometimes depression leads to death.
I would pick the anti-depressants.
Good Luck

every medication have dangerous side effects.
