I had thyroid cancer and I take one of those pills everyday and I expect to die of something else in my old age! It is treatable for most kinds. there are 4- papillary, follicular (both with over 90 percent cure rate) medulliary and anapalastic. (they are the not so good kinds). the most important thing is that she has her blood work monitored for her tg, and gets regular whole body scans yearly or ultrasounds. You are real tired when you first get your thyroid out and it takes about 2 or 3 months to get the dosage on the pill right and now I feel better than before the surgery!
