Everyone does at some time or other, try reading 'The Outsider' by Albert Camus, it will enlighten you

Yes. Everyone does it to some extent. This is part of survival. The feeling that you dont belong is your own evaluation of yourself. This is low self esteem. You'll need to understand why you dont feel good about yourself. What in your past is ruining your self image? I think its good that you posted this question because others will relate and that should make you feel better. Hope that helps.

Keep it up and you will become very wise. Most importantly do not forget to observe yourself doing the observing and remember what you were thinking of the others at the same time.
What you are able to do is missing in most people. That is why the world is in the state that it is.
Most people identify with the task, the group, the job in hand, to the total exclusion of themselves. You are fortunate you can see both at the same time and observe the actions and the reactions.

Sometimes if we compare ourselves with others, we come out on the bottom. Comparison can make us feel worse about ourselves. I think it all depends on how we make the comparison. We could say, "I seem to be wiser than so and so." This would be a good comparison that would make us feel good about ourselves. I think too often the comparisons we make can only lead to making us feel worse than we did before we made the comparison. A negative comparison can make us feel as if we just don't measure up to others.
Maybe we can work toward making only positive ones.
