Quiet, subtle interaction?!

Question: A soft-spoken young woman usually keeps to herself and has trouble making eye contact with people. Occasionally she will quietly listen to some girl talk that is going on. Lately, if she makes eye contact with you, you will smile at her and she'll smile sweetly in return. She's getting better at making eye contact with you and sometimes will break out of her cocoon to quietly listen or to just smile. You try to ask her a few questions and she'll answer quietly but will sometimes blush and then pull back and will listen quietly after that.

What would you think about her quiet interaction with you?

i would think she was sweet and a good listener. kinda mysterious too. i would like to get to know her better. i would feel happy that she broke out of her shell to talk to me and b glad that she would listen to whatever i have to say.

shy and quiet intovert...gentle and easily hurt...fearful with history of trauma...KJL

She seems to be a soft spoken girl ,and seems to interact only when shes in her safe zone, the more you see her and interact with her the bigger the safe zone around you will be, the catch is ,that if you ever for any reason got her scared of you , she would cease any and all contact with you.

Me, I would think she's shy and working on it.

But I'm a mental health counselor and I notice everything.

I would also think that she probably gets drowned out by the noisier people who often take center stage. I would guess that she doesn't know how to be loud like them, and doesn't operate that way, but that if she could, she would interact happily with everyone.

And, if I were her, I would be patient and let some mystery attract others to me. However, I would also work on finding ways to get a little bolder, since that will probably speed things along! :)
