Is he a sex addict or just greedy?!

Question: my best(male) friend has been really out of sorts lately and after confronting him today he told me he has a real problem regarding having sex with people-he thinks hes a addict. he is basically married and has 3kids but has had 8 or so affairs in the last year alone including his wifes best friend and a 17 yr old girl-he's 32-and they are both falling in love with him. he says he hates cheating but as soon as the temptation is put in front of him his hormones take over and he cant help himself. i've told him to tell all the women that its over but he reakons he doesnt want to hurt anyones feelings and he thinks its easier to just ignore them and hope they go away. i want to help him get over this and ive told him he can talk to me anytime he needs to but at the same time i feel like punching him for being so stupid.i know sex addiction is a real thing and he really wants to stop but bar cutting his thingy off is there anything i can do to help him or will he ever be able to change?

It's not hormones, it's compulsion and closely related to addiction. I know because I came close to ruining my marriage the same way. I cheated, went to massage parlors, used escort services, etc. I have been able to overcome my compulsion through the help of a good therapist. I suggest you tell him to seek professional help before it ruins his life.

He's a serial pervert. He needs to be put away.

Short of cutting it off, sounds like he needs his trousers sewn on back to front, and sent to a Dessert island for a few months ,before he infects women with something unpleasant,What a shame for his poor wife, someone ough to tell her,

He thinks he's an addict is the oldest line in the book. He's just a sexual predator. If he is married and has kids of his own he has destroyed the sanctity of his own marriage, put his wifes health in jeopardy with his antics and doesn't care about the break up of his marriage and how it will affect his children. He sounds like the lowest form of life. I wouldn't even bother trying to give this "friend" of yours any help. What ever comes his way he deserves - let him get on with it, then at least when the sh1t hits the fan you won't be in the firing line!

he's a walking STD, feel sorry for the wife poor cow (and the kids)

I feel sorry for his wife! :(

For us guys, sex is something that the more you think about it and visualize it or fantasize it with diferent women in your mind, the more it will make us thirsty for it.. So the only solution for it is to stop visualizing or fantasizing other women for sex and instead, start studying and working out in a gym and stuff like that.
Plus, he might not get enough sex from his wife, so he will have to masturbate to feel ok.

This isn't your problem. If he feels like he's an addict then he should be getting some psychological help.

He should have not married,he needs to be reminded of his vows and what he stands to loose if he doesnt stop.He sounds like weak person, time for tough love

He is a predator. You can not help him,but you should certaintly tell the wife before she gets sick from no fault of her own.How unfair of you,not to want to help them both.Let them then do whatever they must. That would be helping.

give him a good slap in the face

prob not
ur a good m8 but some people just wont changeespeshaly men ! i bit of a sex adict too i know it silly and that ill end up sad and alone but i love the thrill of it if he still doing he prob never change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is a pig. His poor wife must have some idea he cheats on her. He'll end up with an STD and give it to his wife he is a male tramp not an addict. If he can't bring himself to get some help then he just likes the challenge of cheating and not getting caught. He did a 17 yr old? That's statutory rape he should be put in jail for that one.. How can you be his friend and look at his wife with a straight face you're an enabler by knowing what he is doing. He doesn't feel one ounce of guilt that's B.S. he doesn't want to hurt them as I said before he is a pig.

This is tricky, as a wife of someone who i recently found out may or may not be cheating on me, I would love someone to have a quiet word and clear that matter up for me either way.
Not all women will end their marriage because their husbands have cheated, but at least they can have a choice. Her finding out may be the kick he needs to find help and stop (as you say he does).
