Umm... Your doctor needs to give you different meds!

I take Resperdal. Yes, it does incease your apetite. But if it doing good for you then you should still take it. It doesnt make you eat THAT much but just a little increase.

Listen, my son has been on the same med for about 4 years and eats a ton, and he is in no way fat, the resperdal also increased my sons activity level so the suggestion that it may make you gain weight, may have just freaked you out. You can't just stop taking that kind of medication though.T.his medicine in particular changed my sons life for the better, I don't know what we would have done w/out it. Stick with it and just eat normal, like usual and get a little you will see a huge improvement I.
I can't be happier with this drug for what ails my son, good luck, give it a chance...

Ask your doctor about trazadone. I gained 20 + pounds in 6 months on risperdal and I didn't even eat more than usual. My doctor gave me the option to switch so we went with trazadone. There should be several other options you can try.

Abilify and Geodon are like risperdal but they are supposed to be more weight negative. For some, they don't work as well as risperdal though. Also you should probably try more than one day because the increase in appetite may become less as your body gets used to the med. You may just have to decide if it is better to be a little heavier and happy or thin and miserable.
