Funny thing happened to me the other day. I had bought my boyfriend one of those smooshy type pillows but this one has a vibrating massager inside of it and I was setting here looking at the computer with that thing on my head, massaging my scalp and as I got it closer to my eyes, the computer screen started to wave back n forth much like that desert effect you speak of.

Now if you didn't have a massager on your head when the wavy illusion happened to you, then I have a hunch what it could be. I experienced that spot on the wall thing too years ago when I had very high blood pressure.
Blood vessels run behind our eyeballs, right? Well if your blood is coursing through those vessels at an increased rate, possible moving your eyes ever so slightly, then that's why the wavy effect appeared to happen.
High blood pressure can also explain why you were awaken by your own heart rate. That happened to me too before I started up on my blood pressure meds.

Get thee to a doctor my friend!

If you've also heard a swishing noise in your ears or maybe a ringing, thats your blood coursing through those veins near your ears at neck break speeds.

Now take a deep breath and relax cause that is the first step to lowering your blood pressure. The next step is to call your doctor for an appointment.

By the way, you are not mental nor do you have a disorder. Ive experienced the creepy 'illusions' too. Its just your blood pressure playing tricks with your eyes.

Best of luck to you.

You are talking about a mirage. But it sounds like you had a hallucination. Talk to a Dr.

What kind of drugs did you say you were on? JK No for real....go see a doctor.

You might want to chart when these scenes appear to you and how your feeling at the time ... sounds like you are waiting to near exhaustion before going to sleep... if this is the case , perhaps get to sleep earlier .
The Night Tremors might also be your body reacting to exhaustion... like I said start charting when these thing happen and you will soon see a pattern I'm sure !!

Good Luck

Sounds like an acid trip...

If you aren't on drugs, you need to see a doctor.
If you are on drugs, get off of them asap.
