Is there a reason I worry too much?!

Question: I find myself worrying so much these days, if the slightest thing happens I cant stop thinking about it. My life has gotten a tad stressful since the beginning of college, now I cant stop thinking about even the smallest of problems, I cant sleep at night, I keep replaying scenarios over and over in my head, Im always crying and getting myself worked up even though I know I'm being irrational and I cant stop myself from thinking.

A friend suggested I may have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), any thoughts?

What can I do to stop the worrying? Any advice will be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Rime - there is nothing wrong with you...you do not have GAD You do NOT need therapy or medication. You just need to learn how to relax.

It is the function of your mind TO THINK and solve problems. Unfortunately when you are under stress your mind goes into overtime trying to SOLVE the problem of the stress. That's the minds job. To understand more about how you mind works, please read Richard Carlson's book "You Can Be Happy No Matter What."

You just need to relieve your stress. One good way to release your stressful thoughts and feelings is by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Emotional Tapping. In EFT you apply gentle acupressure tapping to specific body points to release negative emotions and thoughts. EFT is easy to learn (you can learn the basics in 15-30 minutes). You can use EFT anytime, anywhere for any emotional or physical issue. One basic round of EFT takes about one minute to complete. EFT works quickly and painlessly.

Please download the FREE EFT Instructional manual from the EFT website (www.emofree.com). Also, please watch the FREE Introductory video.

There is another EFT website, Tapping.com, where you can get immediate help for your issues while learning EFT by just tapping along to one of their 14 FREE instructional videos (including Anxiety Relief).

Yeah, sounds like anxiety, see you doctor for meds, don't suffer.

You probably do have some sort of anxiety disorder and should probably be seen by a doctor. In the meantime some things you might want to try is when you find yourself worrying about a certain subject ask yourself what you can do about it. If there is nothing that you can do about it then you need to let it go and what will be, will be! I know it seems really simple but it does work!!!! You can not control that of which you have no control so if you can't change it, just accept that you will deal with the outcome no matter what! Good luck to you!

It sounds like she/he is right. I experience the same thing. Maybe therapy.
