Anyone else experience more anxiety on Lexapro?!

Question: I am for the time being, but for the first week only took 5mg, switching to 10mg thereafter and have only been on it a little over a week. Am kind of expecting it to go away though because otherwise have noticed a positive impact on depression.

My anxiety definitely got worse when I was taking Lexapro. But everyone responds differently to medications. Just keep an eye on it and let your doctor know if I keeps up. There's other things you can try beside that, but it should go away after taking it a while.

Anxiety/agitation/activation are very, very common side effects of SSRIs, including Lexapro. It almost always gets better over a few weeks' time. If it does not, tell the doc. There are a dozen good antidepressants on the market, not all of which are associated with that kind of activation.

Good luck.

iam currently taking 10 mg right now and i still feel worse meaning more down than what i before the medacation going back to the doctor of feb 6th

yes I did, I kept telling my then psychiatrist that it only made me feel worse, she kept raising my dosage, or telling me it takes weeks to work.
It made me feel terrible, but I was too afraid to leave- and thought it would work. I ended up to the point I couldn't deal with how I felt & ended up finding a doctor who actually listened to me and treated me as a person not just a patient. Its changed my life....
Some doctors treat every patient the same, you need to find the rare ones who treat you as an individual. Everyone is different and reacts- responds to each medication differently.
I wish I only acted sooner. Also, I've been treated terribly by doctors in the past.... I now know they're not allowed to treat you the least bit unfairly. My doctor told me about a great doctor who got his license suspended because he failed to called a patient back. Nothing happened to the patient, but she reported him anyways. I've had doctors do much worse to me and I let it go. I won't anymore.
